Our newest little baby bull is only a few days old, and he's already full of personality! 🐂❤️ I'm just messing with him, saying, "I'm gonna get you!" and off he goes! 😂 Once he's bigger, He's goin go tell me. I'm going to get ya! 😂 Meanwhile, Mama is as sweet and gentle as ever. We raised her from just 3 months old, and now she's a mama herself. Hard to believe how fast time flies! ❤️ Just another fun little moment around JD Farming Horse Rescue. Never a dull day with these animals! 🐴🐂

On this first walk, we learned pretty quickly that her “brakes” are up by her head and the grass is a bigger distraction than anything else. Slow progress is still progress, and this is what real horse rescue looks like: patience, a little humor, and figuring things out one step at a time. We were out for almost two hours, and honestly, the horse won the speed contest.

Day 1: We have a brand-new baby bull! ❤️🐂 Day 2: HE'S MISSING. 😳 We searched everywhere and couldn't find this little guy. Finally, I let Mama back out so she could go looking for him herself — and sure enough, she knew exactly where he was. He had wandered off to the other side of the farm and apparently decided that was a perfectly good place to take a nap. 😂 Mama is incredibly gentle with me because we raised her from about 3 months old. Now she's 2 years old and has a baby of her own. ❤️ Once we found him, I picked him up, put him on the scooter, and gave him a ride all the way back to their main pen. And somehow... he waited until AFTER the ride to p**p. 😂💩 Never a dull day at JD Farming Horse Rescue.

Star is blind, so giving her a safe and comfortable place to move, rest, and simply be a horse means everything to us. ❤️ Some incredible volunteers came together to help build Star's new shelter and stable, putting up the metal structure, welding, and getting the roof in place. This is just a short preview of the work being done. There is still more to come, but every piece we finish brings Star one step closer to having the safe space she deserves. We couldn't do this without the people who give their time, hard work, and hearts to these horses. ❤️🐴

Meet Star, our beautiful blind mare, as she begins a new chapter at JD Farming Horse Rescue. ❤️ We prepared carefully for her arrival, making her transition as safe and comfortable as possible. From those first uncertain steps on and off the trailer to meeting the herd and beginning to explore her new surroundings, this is Star’s first chapter with us. Welcome home, Star. 🐴❤️
