Luke checked in with our vet again yesterday, and is now up to 43 lbs! He is filling out well and his foster mom reports that Luke is doing great in her home. Once he gains a little more weight, Luke will be able to begin his heartworm treatment. Many thanks to all who have donated towards Luke's care.

Luke has arrived at his new foster home and is settling in well. He is being fed multiple, small meals a day and is using a special bowl to help slow him down. Luke is very happy when he sees kids. He will quickly show off his sit and will give you his paw. After everything that this boy has gone through, it is amazing that he continues to be so loving and trusting with people. Luke will visit our vet tomorrow and we will update his page as soon as we know more!

10/07/14 -

Luke was found as a stray in awful condition. He is emaciated and only weighs 31 pounds at this time. Luke also tested heartworm and Lyme positive. He will begin treatment as soon as he gains some much needed weight and gets his strength back.

Luke will be arriving at his new foster home tomorrow, where he can get the TLC he so desperately needs. This adorable boy will have a long road ahead of him, but we will provide the care he needs and make sure he is never in this condition again. We learned from the animal control officer this evening that Luke had likely been left in the woods in a crate. They found a crate in the middle of nowhere in the woods nearby where Luke was found that this poor boy had probably sat in for who knows how long, starving, and eventually he was able to break out of it.

Please consider helping Luke by making a donation towards his care. We will update his page as he settles into his foster home and we learn more about him.
