🥔 Have you ever wanted your very own house potato!? Well, meet Potato!

Potato is about 1 year old and is a whole lot of dog packed into one very squatty little body. We call her a pocket pitty because somehow all that personality, wiggle, and love got squeezed into one compact little package!

Potato recently found herself back at the shelter after a stay in a home with cats. Despite working on training, she just isn’t suited for a home with feline roommates. Potato will need a cat-free home where she can settle in and be her adorable little self! The good news? She does great with dogs of all sizes, knows how to sit, and is always happy to soak up some attention.

Potato also has sensitive skin and a sensitive stomach, so she'll need a special diet to help keep her feeling her best. It's a small price to pay for having your very own pocket-sized potato!
If you’ve always thought your home was missing a potato, we have excellent news: Potato is looking for her next forever home! Let’s help this little couch potato find a family that’s the perfect fit this time around.

❄️ Meet Elsa! ❄️

Elsa has been with us for a week now, and she’s slowly starting to warm up. Unfortunately, shelter life doesn’t get much easier when you’re this scared.

This 2-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix came from a rough situation, and the loud noises, unfamiliar faces, and constant activity of the shelter have been a lot for her to handle. She’s still pretty shut down, but we’re beginning to see little steps in the right direction.

Elsa is especially nervous about the leash and all the new things she’s being asked to navigate. She’s going to need someone who understands that trust takes time and who won’t expect her to be brave overnight. She has done well with other dogs and has previously lived with children, so we know there’s more to this girl than the scared pup we see in the shelter right now.

Elsa doesn’t need someone to fix everything for her in a day. She needs someone willing to be patient, give her space, and celebrate the little victories along the way. A week may not seem like very long, but when you’re scared and everything around you feels unfamiliar, even one day can feel like forever. We’re hoping someone will look past her fear and see a dog worth giving a chance.

❤️ Burt and Mary Poppins are still searching for their happy ever after! These two aren’t exactly professional models. They’re much more interested in running around and exploring than sitting still for pictures!

Burt and Mary Poppins have spent their whole lives together, and now they’re hoping to find a family who will let them keep it that way! These little 6–7-year-old mixes are a package deal, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. They’ve already done life side by side, and their next chapter should be no different!

Mary Poppins is the social butterfly of the duo, always ready to greet people and collect all the love she can get. Burt is more of a quiet observer, happy to sit back and supervise the world around him. He’s missing most, if not all, of his teeth, but that doesn’t seem to bother him one bit! Together, they make the perfect little pair with two very different personalities.

These two are some kind of Jack Russell, Pug, and Chihuahua mix, and they do great with other dogs! We’re also offering a 2-for-1 adoption special, so BOTH dogs can go home for just $45! Two dogs, twice the love, and a lifetime of memories waiting to be made.

Meet Sherlock Bones! 🖤🔎

Sherlock is about a year old and is one unique-looking guy! Have you ever seen a black Golden Retriever? Because that’s exactly what he looks like! He may even have a little Newfoundland mixed in there. His coat looks black at first glance, but underneath is a gorgeous mix of brown and gray that makes him even more special. He’s a big, fluffy puppy with a whole lot of growing up to do!

Sherlock may be a little behind on his puppy manners, especially when it comes to his mouthiness. He isn’t aggressive in any way, but he never quite learned that puppy biting isn’t appropriate, and now he’s a big boy who doesn’t realize just how big his mouth is! He’ll need a dedicated adopter who is ready to work on this behavior with consistent boundaries, appropriate redirection, and training. Because of his mouthiness, we wouldn’t recommend a home with children until he has made progress in this area.

Sherlock does well with other dogs! He’s still a young pup with plenty of potential, and with the right guidance, he can learn the manners he needs to become an amazing companion. If you’re ready to help this handsome detective solve the mystery of good manners, Sherlock Bones might just be your guy!

Meet Felix.

This little guy is about 3 months old. Scheduled to be neutered, microchipped and current on his first set of vaccines. We think he may be a Shepherd/Heeler mix.

Felix is ready to fix any sadness you may have. His motto is “I can fix it” just like Fix it Felix.

This little guy is all puppy and ready to learn. He was quite shy when he first came in but has come out of his shell. Felix loves to sit in your lap while chewing on his toy.

Felix would love to meet you! Come in today. The shelter is open Monday - Friday from 10am to 6pm.

🤠 Meet Cowboy!

Cowboy is a 3-year-old Great Dane who is pretty much ALL legs, and he knows exactly how to use them! This big guy did great with other dogs, but his play style involves those extra-long legs, so he could accidentally squish a smaller friend without even realizing it. He'd do best with playmates who can keep up with his big-dog energy!

Cowboy is a little on the skinny side, which means it's officially time for his bulk season! Luckily, he loves treats, so we don't think he'll have any complaints about working toward filling out that big frame.

If you've been looking for a giant, goofy best friend with legs for days and a whole lot of love to give, Cowboy might just be your guy!

Meet Burt & Mary Poppins! ❤️

Some things are just better together, and Burt and Mary Poppins are proof! These two have been together their whole lives, and we plan on keeping it that way. At around 6–7 years old, these little mixes are ready to find a home where they can continue their adventures side by side!

Mary Poppins is the sweetheart and people person of the pair. She’s happy to go up to just about anybody to collect some love and attention! Burt, on the other hand, is perfectly content just being there, watching the world go by and making sure everything is running smoothly. He doesn’t have many, if any, teeth, though we aren’t completely sure why. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem to slow him down one bit!

These two are some kind of Jack Russell, pug, and Chihuahua mix, and they do great with other dogs! Even better, we are doing a 2-for-1 adoption special, meaning you can take BOTH home for just $45! If you have room in your heart for two, Burt and Mary Poppins are ready to find their happily ever after together.

Come meet these two at West Jordan Animal Services, 5982 W New Bingham Hwy, West Jordan, UT. The shelter is open Monday–Friday, 10 AM–6 PM.

❤️ Ragnar is still waiting for his forever home! ❤️

Ragnar is a 4-year-old Siberian Husky with a gorgeous red-brown coat and a personality that is just as handsome. This guy absolutely LOVES other dogs and has done great meeting all kinds of canine friends here at the shelter. He also gets along with cats and has done well with kids!

And while he may have the classic Husky look and a few opinions to share, Ragnar is actually a pretty lowkey and chill guy. He has previously been house trained and would likely just need a little reminder of his manners in a new home. He’s the kind of Husky who would love having a family and maybe even a doggy sibling to hang out with.

Ragnar is ready to trade his kennel for a couch, a family, and a place to call his own. Come meet this handsome guy and see if he’s the Husky you’ve been waiting for!

🤎 Wrigley is STILL waiting for his person. 🤎

Our sweet senior boy has been waiting for someone to notice him, and we really don’t want him to spend his golden years in the shelter. At around 12 years old and 30 lbs, Wrigley is the perfect little mystery mix — like a tiny Lab with the cutest Shar Pei ears! He loves getting outside to explore and sniff around, and he’s always happy to accept a peanut butter treat.

Wrigley has done great with other dogs and has also done well with cats, making this little guy a pretty easygoing companion. He may be a little older, but that doesn’t mean he’s out of love to give. He’s looking for a cozy home where he can relax, be spoiled, and spend his golden years surrounded by people who adore him. Could you be the one to give Wrigley his happily ever after?

❄️ Meet Elsa! ❄️

Elsa is a 2-year-old Husky/ Shepherd mix who is looking for someone willing to show her that life can be a lot kinder than what she’s known. Elsa came from a rough situation and has been pretty shut down since arriving at the shelter. All the loud, unfamiliar noises here are overwhelming for her, and she is understandably very scared.

Elsa is especially nervous about the leash, but she’s slowly working on building her courage and learning that new things don’t have to be scary. She has done well with other dogs and has previously lived with children. She’s going to need a patient, understanding home that will give her the time and space to come out of her shell at her own pace.

Elsa may not be the dog who runs up to greet you right away, but underneath that scared exterior is a girl who deserves the chance to feel safe. We’re hoping her person is out there waiting to show her just how good life can be.
