Meet Benny. He is a 1-year-old Australian Shepherd with the high-energy, whip-smart spirit that his breed is famous for, but Benny’s high energy turned into a life-altering problem: he chased the chickens at his home, and because of it, his family dumped him at an overcrowded shelter in West Virginia.
A high-energy working breed in an overcrowded shelter is a recipe for heartbreak. Benny was scared, confused, and quickly running out of time. In rural Southern shelters, being a "high-energy" dog can unfortunately be a death sentence due to the high euthanasia rates in over crowded under-resourced shelters.
Benny is now safe at Greenmore, and we are working hard to channel his "Aussie energy" into positive activities. He is a fantastic, loyal boy who just needs a little bit of guidance and a lot of love to realize he’s a good dog.
To get Benny ready for his forever home, we need to cover his intake costs, including:
- Initial vet assessment and blood work
- Core immunizations
- Neuter surgery
- Flea/tick/heartworm prevention
This $5 Friday, we’re asking our community to chip in $5 to help us clear Benny's medical expenses.
Will you give $5 to show Benny that his energy is a gift, not a reason to be discarded?
