Little Mr. Murphy

This adorable guy joined us for training last week & we are so happy to have him here!

Murphy is a pretty young little guy that has a few things to work on while he is in training. We will be focusing on building his confidence as sometimes the world seems a little big, building a communication system, regulating big emotions when playing with dog friends (& his bigger sister), off leash privileges at the lake, & some loose leash walking skills!

He is a big lover & is just happy to be here, doing life with everyone. We adore Murphy & his family & can’t wait to show off all the skills he learns as the weeks go on, as well as show just how funny & silly this guy is!

These two are nothing short of amazing!

We had the pleasure of working with them for a few weeks & watching their connection in person was truly inspiring. Each week that we sent them home with homework, they came back exceeding our expectations. Every. Single. Time.

We can’t wait to keep hearing about all the amazing accomplishments these two will have together! 🖤

✨E-COLLARS✨

Why do you see them on a majority of the dogs we train?

Our goal for every dog is to be able to have off-leash freedom! What those freedoms are varies from dog to dog based on their families lifestyle! Whether that’s the ability to play in an unfenced backyard without a tie out or taking on an off-leash hike in the mountains, we want you to be able to do that, while having a safety back up!

E-collars have a lot of uses and ways to be taught but we teach it as a gas pedal! Encouraging your dog, at the lowest level they respond too, to do the behavior faster!

We also have each owner find out their level during their training lessons! Most are surprised what it actually feels like! Often described as a little tickle!

Most importantly, E-collar is a tool of communication! The stimulation can be taught to mean many things or just one thing depending on who, how and why it’s being taught!

It’s important to remember that we use e-collar to reinforce behaviors that have already been taught through positive reinforcement, we never use it to teach new behaviors!

Hi Walker!

You have definitely seen this goofy guy in our stories but we have yet to introduce him!

Walker is Hailey’s foster dog!

He enjoys hanging out during pack climb, zooming around with all his buddies, especially Knox, looking so cute we have to give him attention and helping out when we are working with training dogs! He also loves learning new things and being a huge goofball!

Currently, we are working on introducing him to bite sports with the goal of getting his PDC which is the Protection Dog Certificate for PSA! (Protection Sports Association)

You will continue to see this goofy guy at the facility and in our stories for a while as he’s in his journey to get his PDC!

🚨🚨THURSDAY & FRIDAY HEADS UP🚨🚨

They are finishing paving the rest of our driveway on Thursday and Friday this week!

*full transparency we aren’t sure how this will affect pick up and drop off*

PLEASE allow yourself extra time for pick up and drop off! We will extend our drop off window to 8:45am and pick up will start at 5pm for these two days!

We will do everything possible to make this process as smooth as possible! If you need to pick up earlier than 5pm either day please let us know and we would be happy to accommodate!

Ollie showed off at Pets Supplies Plus today!

Ollie and his mom have been working hard in private lessons to work on his dog reactivity, and layering in remote collar for off leash reliability! Today they really showed off their skills!

They have truly tackled so much the past few months including getting Ollie’s Canine Good Citizen title, which also requires neutrality to another dog in order to pass!

Congrats you two on all your hard work we cannot wait to see you continue to tackle the world together!

This sweet boy started training this week with the main focus being, teach Trips how to regulate his emotions!

He is a very very excitable guy who goes into a frantic state of mind when in new places or when he deems things that are happening around him exciting!

Trips has done a training program before coming to us that build up his obedience skills so we will also continue building off those skills while he’s with us!

Another goal for Trips is to go into his kennel when asked! He will often go in half way and pause then bolt back out, or go in completely and blast out. Trip’s dad would like him to be able to ride in a kennel in the car, as that’s the safest way for a dog to travel in the car. With his current feelings towards the kennel that’s not possible yet!

The past few days the kennel has been our biggest focus and we are happy to say he’s made significant improvements already! We will continue to generalize it before we pass it off to Dad to make sure everyone is set up for success!

We cannot wait to see where the next few weeks take us with him while giving him and his dad the skills to tackle the world together with a better state of mind!
