A full circle moment 💙

Two years ago, Stevie was Megan’s very first blood draw — a moment filled with nerves, learning, and trust.

From firsts to full circle moments, this is what veterinary medicine is all about 🐾

🌸🐾 Flower shopping season is here! 🐾🌸

As you bring home fresh flowers and new plants this spring and summer, we wanted to give everyone a friendly reminder that many common household plants can be toxic to our furry friends. Some plants may cause a mild reaction, while others can lead to serious health concerns if ingested.

A few common toxic plants include:
🌷 Lilies
🌿 Pothos
🌺 Oleander
🌱 Philodendrons
🌸 Tulips & Daffodils
🍃 Sago Palms
🌼 Chrysanthemums

If you’re unsure whether a plant is pet-safe, it’s always best to check before bringing it home. Keeping toxic plants out of reach — or choosing pet-friendly options — can help keep your pets safe and healthy this season! 💚

If you think your pet may have eaten a toxic plant, contact your veterinarian or pet poison hotline right away. 🐶🐱

We hope everyone has a safe and meaningful holiday spent with family, friends, and furry companions.

Thank you, and Happy Memorial Day from all of us at the clinic. ❤️

Today is National Dog Rescue Day — a day to celebrate the incredible rescue dogs who have found loving homes and the people who gave them a second chance. 🐾❤️

These are some of our staff’s beloved pets who were rescued and are now living their best lives. Every rescue dog has a story, and we are so thankful these amazing pups found safe, loving homes filled with care and compassion.

Rescue dogs may come from difficult beginnings, but with patience and love, they become loyal companions and cherished family members. Today we honor not only our own rescued pets, but all the dogs still waiting for their forever homes.

Show us your rescue dogs in the comments! 🐾❤️ We’d love to see your adopted pups and hear their stories!

Thank you to the shelters, rescues, fosters, and adopters who help make these happy endings possible.

Important Parasite Prevention Update 🐾

We are no longer carrying Simparica TRIO for parasite prevention and have recently switched to Credelio Quattro for our canine patients.

Simparica TRIO is still a great product with excellent efficacy, and if you wish for your pet to remain on this preventative, it is still available through our online store.

Why the switch?

✔️ Faster tick kill time
✔️ Includes tapeworm coverage
✔️ Protects against fleas, ticks, heartworm, and intestinal parasites

Our goal is always to provide the best protection possible for your pets while keeping them happy and healthy year-round.

If you have any questions about your pet’s parasite prevention or whether Credelio Quattro is right for them, please give our clinic a call — we’re happy to help!

🐾 May is Pet Arthritis Awareness Month 🐾

Arthritis is one of the most common causes of chronic pain in cats and dogs, especially as they age. While many pet owners assume slowing down is just a normal part of getting older, it can actually be a sign of painful joint disease.

⚠️ Common Signs of Arthritis:
• Difficulty getting up or lying down
• Limping or stiffness, especially after rest
• Reluctance to jump, climb stairs, or play
• Sleeping more than usual
• Changes in behavior, such as irritability or hiding
• Licking or chewing at sore joints• Trouble grooming (especially in cats)

⚖️ Obesity and Arthritis:
• Extra weight places added stress on joints, worsening pain and inflammation.
• Overweight pets are at a much higher risk of developing arthritis and may experience more severe symptoms.
• Maintaining a healthy body weight is one of the most effective ways to reduce joint pain and improve mobility.

💙 Managing Joint Pain:
• Weight management
• Joint supplements
• Pain medications prescribed by your veterinarian
• Physical therapy and gentle exercise
• Comfortable bedding and easy access to favorite spaces

Early detection and proper treatment can help your pet stay active, comfortable, and happy for years to come.

If your dog or cat seems less active or hesitant to move, talk to your veterinarian. Arthritis may be the cause—and help is available. 🐶🐱
