A wedding cake for a very special couple🤍My finance’s son, MJ, married his Chloe🫶🏻It was a joy and privilege to be able to make the desserts for their wedding.

All our bakery weddings are special to us, as we work so closely, sometimes it feels like family by wedding day! This was super special…when it IS my actual family🤍We planned for quite some time, and the bride knew exactly what she wanted. She created their own custom monogram design, which you see on this cake.

Using several new techniques, this was the finished product🤌🏻Our white cake, paired with almond buttercream, and gently wrapped in interwoven fondant layers. Finished with their custom font/designed monogram.

Paisley & Dash is officially LIT. Some of the most FUN and pinch-me-moments of being an entrepreneur …are ones like these. Where you think of a what-if idea, while lying in bed or on a walk (I always seem to think CREATIVELY HARD when I’m walking outside🤷🏻‍♀️idk feet to the earth or something..??)

Then go through each step to get there (fall a couple SEVERAL times🤦🏻‍♀️) …and then all of a sudden…every evening I’m lighting the cutest prettiest candle on my nightstand (kitchen table, stovetop, mantle, powder bath, and and and😅) Then I look at Paisley and Dash (the actual pups🐩🐩) and say ‘look…your names are on this candle my little loves!’💖

So excited to introduce our NEW signature candle! It’s a cozy, yet elegant wintry scent that’s going to usher us right into fall…calm us throughout the holidays…yet light up the darkest days of winter.

You know when you’re out and about, and running a million different directions, places you have to be times you have to be there…🙉you think, I can’t wait to get home, put on my jammies and slippers, snuggle up…and light a candle.🙋🏻‍♀️This one’s for you!

Peep my new cute [thrifted] shelf! The one that my POLKA DOT toaster is snuggled in🤍🖤

I was just recently on a radio show🤗and we covered a TON of fun topics, one of which… what it looks like inside👀the bakery. We got to chatting about work space…

One thing I’ve learned - it’s important for me to be in a space that lets me ‘feel’ creative. Which…creates productivity for me👏🏻Things inspire me at the most random moments, in the most unexpected ways…and I really do think part of that is what, how, and who you surround yourself with.

This shelf makes it feel like more of a soft, personal kitchen for me…and less of a stainless steel surrounded, cold environment. The little lamps I have all over the shop…make it feel like a home. So when I have early 4am mornings, I wake up the kitchen with my coffee, by lamplight. My pink-painted freezer gives me the feeling of ‘WHY NOT!?’ Like why NOT paint your freezer pink with gold accessories😅Just like that giant bow I painted on the WALL. Why not😍Why not leave my career as a financial advisor of fifteen yearssss…and sell cupcakes online😅 (you see my point here)

Look at these two! They look like they’re on a cupcake date, don’t they!🤗My two favorite people, my Mom and Dad.

We use all kinds of recipes at the shop, and let me tell you…these two, are an essential ingredient in the recipe of Paisley & Dash, and as its story continues to unfold - they shape it in ways they don’t even know💖

They have walked with me every step of this cupcake journey…from ‘hey guys, I think I’m going to quit my CAREER and sell cupcakes online’ to ‘hey guys I think I need a dumbwaiter at the house to get all my shipping boxes upstairs for FedEx so I don’t have to run up and down my steps 35 times’ to ‘so I think I need a bigger oven and I actually maybe… to build a commercial kitchen…’ 😳

And you know what? NEVER do they say ‘no you can’t do that’ or ‘no that’s not gonna work’ etc. Do they offer caution and perspective where necessary? Sure, of course - they’re my parents…but the way they have encouraged and supported me has been such a gift. It’s like 2 sets of invisible hands on my back, softly guiding and pushing me forward.

Now, every time I pull up to the bakery, I get to picture this…them sweetly sitting at the cupcake counter😉 I hope they enjoy this photo, as much as I will cherish it forever💖

*I wish I could squeeze my ENTIRE fambam in this pic, that’s a whole other post. I don’t know how I got so lucky…HEAPING spoonfuls of love and support. In fact, one of my Aunties just texted me a recipe to pass on down…😉and thought it would be a good addition to the shop. So…stay tuned for that!😉🤍🖤
