What Is a Behavioral Assessment at Pack Legends and What Should I Expect?

A behavioral assessment is the first step in understanding what is really happening with your dog and creating a realistic plan to address it.
This is not a test your dog needs to pass. It is an opportunity for us to evaluate your dog’s behavior, environment, routine, handling, and relationship with you so we can better understand the root cause of the issue and recommend the most appropriate next steps.
Below is what the process looks like:

1. You contact us
Reach out to Pack Legends and tell us a little about your dog and the main concerns you are experiencing.

2. You complete a behavioral questionnaire
This helps us gather important information about your dog’s history, behavior, triggers, routine, household structure, medical background, and any safety concerns.

3. We sign the training agreement
Once we determine that a behavioral assessment is the right starting point, we will send you a training agreement to review and sign.

4. We schedule the assessment
The assessment is typically done in the environment where the dog lives or where the problem is occurring, when appropriate and safe.

If you spend enough time in the dog world, you will eventually hear a professional trainer say something that surprises many dog owners:

“We do not recommend dog parks.”

For many people, this feels counterintuitive. After all, dog parks were designed to give dogs freedom, exercise, and socialization. They seem like the perfect place for dogs to “burn energy” and make friends.

But from a professional training and behavioral perspective, dog parks are often one of the most unpredictable and risky environments you can place a dog into.

It’s National Rescue Dog Day!

I usually featue our local Fargo rescue dogs on my page.
But today i want to showcase my Canadian rescue. Carescueteam We are small, but mighty!
We are incredibly grateful for a year that allowed us to help 15 wonderful souls transition into their new lives as beloved family dogs. We are equally grateful to the kind humans who opened their hearts and homes to our little orphans.

But our work is not done yet. We currently have 9 more dogs still waiting for their happily ever after — and we will continue fighting for every single one of them. ❤️
