โ What is Cooperative Care Training? โ
Building Trust, Confidence & CooperationโOne Paw at a Time! ๐พ
Make grooming, veterinary visits, and everyday handling a more positive experience for you and your dog!
Our Cooperative Care Group Training Class teaches dogs to willingly participate in their own care rather than feeling frightened, restrained, or forced. Through positive reinforcement, patience, and trust-building exercises, dogs learn that routine handling can be safe, comfortable, and even rewarding!
What Will Your Dog Learn?
Throughout this interactive group class, you and your dog will practice skills that help make everyday care easier, including:
โข ๐พ Paw Handling & Nail Trims: Building comfort with having paws touched, held, and nails maintained.
โข ๐ Grooming Confidence: Creating positive associations with brushing, grooming tools, and routine maintenance.
โข ๐ฉบ Veterinary Visit Preparation: Practicing gentle body examinations, ear checks, and other common veterinary procedures.
โข โค๏ธ Consent & Communication: Teaching dogs how to participate willingly and communicate when they need a break.
โข ๐ Confidence & Trust Building: Helping dogs feel more secure and relaxed during necessary handling.
Why Is Cooperative Care Important?
Every dog deserves to feel safe and respected during their care. Cooperative care helps reduce fear and anxiety, improves safety for groomers and veterinary professionals, and strengthens the bond between dogs and their owners.
Whether you have a young puppy learning the ropes, an adult dog who dislikes nail trims, or a nervous pup who struggles with grooming or veterinary visits, this class provides valuable tools for a lifetime of more comfortable care.
Our Goal: To turn stressful experiences into positive partnerships, giving your dog a voice in their care while helping you provide the care they need!
Join us at OFPS Academy and discover how a little cooperation can make a BIG difference! ๐พ
