Sometimes things come together for a reason.
October is Pit Bull Awareness Month, and I can’t think of a better time to share Stella’s story.
When Stella walked into the studio for her DubC Dog Portrait session, I immediately fell for her calm, loving personality and, of course, that beautiful Pittie face.
But Stella’s life wasn’t always so comfortable.
She was found chained to a tree near a cemetery in Media, PA, after recently giving birth to puppies. Thankfully, she made her way to Providence Animal Center, where one photograph would eventually catch the attention of Julieanne, nearly 100 miles away.
Her reaction?
“Yep, she’s mine.”
Today, Stella is Julieanne’s soul dog, a couch-loving, toy-destroying, attention-seeking Pittie who is a pretty wonderful example of why we need to look beyond the negative stigma attached to these dogs.
Stella’s full story is now live!

And if Stella’s story makes you look at a Pit Bull or shelter dog a little differently, I hope you’ll share it.
