🕷️ We’ve been seeing so many ticks lately, and tick season is just getting started.
Lyme disease is spread through the bite of infected ticks and can cause:
🐾 Limping or joint pain

The good news? Lyme disease is often preventable with consistent tick prevention and regular screening.
Here are a few ways to help protect your pets:
✔️ Use veterinarian-recommended flea/tick prevention year-round
✔️ Check your pets for ticks after being outdoors
✔️ Keep grass and brush trimmed around your home
✔️ Talk to us about Lyme testing and vaccination options

We are SO excited to Welcome Dr. Rob Cafaro to the Best Friend Vet team!! He will be seeing patients and doing surgery alongside Dr. Parkman on Wednesdays and Thursdays, starting May 27, 2026. Dr. Robert Cafaro grew up in Downingtown, where his passion for animals began at an early age. He started his journey working in local veterinary hospitals, eventually becoming a veterinary nurse before pursuing veterinary school. During those formative years, he discovered that his calling extended beyond caring for animals—it also meant supporting the people who love them and helping bridge the communication between pets and their families. He particularly values building lasting relationships with his patients and their owners. His professional interests include dermatology, surgery, and internal medicine, and he enjoys mentoring and teaching aspiring veterinary students. Dr. Cafaro earned his biology degree from Penn State University and received his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014. Outside of work, he enjoys painting, hiking, and spending time with his wife, two daughters, and their Newfoundland, Stanley. Please join us in enthusiastically welcoming Dr. Cafaro to the practice. We can't wait for you to meet him!☺

These 2 little love bugs are looking for a home! They are approximately 6 weeks old, one boy and one girl. They had their first check up and dewormer, and will be due for their first vaccines in 2 weeks. After that, they will be ready to go to a loving home. If you are interested, please let us know and we will put you in touch with their foster mom! ❤
