Central New England Equine Rescue (CNEER) Central New England Equine Rescue (CNEER) Central New England Equine Rescue (CNEER) is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization located in Massachusetts.

We are an all-volunteer rescue for horses. (See what Guide Star has to say about CNEER. Guide Star has a database of information about U.S. nonprofit organizations.) We have a wonderful group of volunteers with the same goal in mind, to rescue and rehabilitate horses. Everyone involved at CNEER ensures that all horses rescued are treated with the best possible care. We know what is involved in the rehabilitation to make them healthy and restore their spirit. We also have learned that we cannot do everything for all horses, but we can do something! One horse at a time, we fight the good fight to restore faith to these magnificent creatures that have been put through great suffering in their lifetime.

A ban on NYC carriage horses is finally being seriously looked at for 2028³. It is way past due as Elizabeth Forel, a long time activist, to stop this can attest to. She founded the coalition to ban horse drawn carriages https://banhdc.org/whatwillhap.shtmlo

and has been out there bringing awareness to all of us. She has visited us several times to learn ho²w horses are normally cared for. Fingers crossed Elizabeth!

Please know carriage horses are well treated by responsible owners. Not all are forced to work in sweltering, humid, heat breathing in car fumes for hours on end or in our wintry freezing temps.
