Meet Apollo! 🐾
Apollo is a sweet, fun-loving 1-year-old pup who just celebrated his first birthday in July! He is a playful dog who enjoys being active and spending time with his people.
Apollo is completely potty trained and crate trained. He is still working on his obedience training, but he is a smart and capable dog who does very well with a confident, consistent owner who can continue giving him structure, guidance, and positive training.He absolutely loves being active! Apollo enjoys running, hiking, playing fetch, and getting his energy out outdoors. He is also a big fan of vanilla ice cream and pigs’ ears!
He would do best with someone who has the time and confidence to continue working with him and give him plenty of physical activity and mental stimulation.Apollo is a wonderful dog with a lot of love to give, and I want to find him a home where he can truly thrive and have the lifestyle that fits his needs. 🐶❤️

Dog training homework for clients.

You know the one.

You spend an hour with a dog and owner. You make real progress. The dog is responding. The owner is amazed. You send them home with clear instructions, simple exercises, ten minutes a day. Nothing unreasonable.

You come back the following week.

They did not do the homework.

Not some of it. Not most of it. None of it. And the dog is exactly where it was seven days ago, sometimes worse, and the owner is looking at you like you are the variable that did not perform.

So you do the session again. You make progress again. The dog responds again. The owner is amazed again.

You send them home with the same homework.

You already know what happens next.

Here is the part nobody warned you about when you got into this industry. You are not in the dog training business. You are in the human behavior change business. The dog figured it out in twenty minutes. The owner is a six week project with no guarantee of completion.

Every dog trainer reading this just exhaled.

You are not alone. It has never been the dog.

What is your best strategy for actually getting owners to do the homework?

Within a day or two of starting the ads. You will know if you have a winning campaign by the end of the first 30 days. Anybody who tells you it takes months before you start seeing results is lying to you.

Another young canine trainee at APEX K9. This is Crazy Zane, a 5-month-old puppy. He was extremely energetic prior to training. Under guidance, with his owner dedicating time to training, he is mastering walking nicely on a leash, sit-stay, and down-stay commands. They are making excellent progress.
