🚗🐾 Traveling with Pets This Summer

Summer adventures are better when our pets come along! Whether you're heading to the campground, the lake, or taking a cross-country road trip, a little preparation can help keep your furry family members safe and comfortable.

Before you hit the road:

✅ Make sure your pet's ID tags and microchip information are up to date
✅ Pack plenty of food, water, medications, and any comfort items from home
✅ Bring vaccination records if you'll be crossing state lines, staying at campgrounds, or using boarding facilities
✅ Take frequent breaks for potty walks, exercise, and water
✅ Never leave your pet unattended in a vehicle, even for a few minutes

Watch for signs of stress or overheating, including excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, or vomiting. If your pet becomes ill while traveling, seek veterinary care as soon as possible.

As we head into the holiday weekend with some beautiful weather ahead, we hope everyone gets the chance to enjoy the sunshine, fresh air, and extra time outdoors with their furry family members! ☀️🐾

Whether you’re heading to the lake, camping, hiking, grilling in the backyard, or simply enjoying long walks with your pets, don’t forget that warmer weather also means fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes are very active here in Wisconsin.

Ticks can carry diseases like Lyme disease, and mosquitoes spread heartworm disease — which can be dangerous and costly to treat. The good news is that prevention is safe, easy, and much better than treatment.

Now is the perfect time to make sure your pets are up to date on their heartworm, flea, and tick prevention so they can safely enjoy all the adventures summer brings! ❤️

Being a vet tech means getting the best parts of life some days — tiny puppy kisses, wagging tails, kitten cuddles, and watching scared pets learn to trust us. 🐾💕

But it also means being there during some of the hardest moments families will ever face. It means holding hands through heartbreak, comforting scared pets, and carrying the emotional weight that comes with loving animals so deeply.

This job isn’t always easy, and it isn’t always happy. But even on the hardest days, we are so thankful to do what we do.

To care for animals. To support their people. To celebrate the good days and help carry the heavy ones.

Thank you for trusting us with your furry family members — the puppy kisses make the tough days a little softer. ❤️

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Closure Notice 🇺🇸

In honor of Memorial Day, our clinic will be closed Monday, May 25th as we take time to remember and honor the brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. ❤️🤍💙

We are deeply grateful for the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of those we remember on this day, as well as the families who carry their memory forward. Thank you to all who have served and continue to serve.

As you enjoy the holiday weekend with your family, friends, and pets, please remember to stay safe:
🐾 Keep pets cool and hydrated
🐾 Be cautious around grills, fireworks, and holiday foods
🐾 Make sure pets have updated ID tags if traveling
🐾 Watch for signs of heat stress during outdoor activities

To all the moms today — the moms of children, the moms of fur babies, the ones hoping to become moms, and the ones carrying love and loss in their hearts — we see you. 💜

At our clinic, we witness every day the incredible bond between people and their pets. The late-night worries, the gentle kisses on sleepy foreheads, the treats slipped under the table, the comforting cuddles after hard days… that’s motherhood too.

And for those missing a beloved pet, a child, a parent, or grieving a love that still lives deeply in your heart, please know you are not forgotten today. Grief exists because love existed first.
