Hello Family! With year 7 in business coming up, it felt like the perfect time to reintroduce the “humans behind the clippers!” 😉
I thought it would be fun to show where it all started… because loonngg before the grooming tables + shears, we were just two little girls who loved animals!

𝓢𝓲𝓮𝓻𝓻𝓪 🐾
I grew up surrounded by animals on the farm, and they were always where I felt the most at home. I was the kid who gravitated toward the animals at every function, who worried about them, talked to them like they understood every word and cried when they hurt.
I thought my path would take me into vet med, and I spent 2 years working in the vet field learning as much as I could. But along the way I discovered grooming and it just clicked. It combined everything that mattered to me.
My name is Sierra, and in April of 2019 I opened Heart & Soul Pet Grooming in a small room inside my mom’s boarding facility. Nothing “fancy”.. just me, a dream, and a whole lot of love, hoping that maybe something meaningful could grow from it.
Heart & Soul was never meant to be just another fast paced grooming salon. It was built around one simple idea, that every fur-baby deserves patience, kindness, and to feel safe + understood while they’re here. A positive 1:1 experience has always mattered more to me than anything else. Haircuts grow back, but their trust is something you really have to earn and protect.
The truth is, I’ve never really known how to love anything halfway. I love the fur-clients that walk through my doors like they’re my own, and that’s both the most beautiful and the hardest part of what I do. Being trusted with animals who can’t advocate for themselves is something I will never take lightly.
That little girl in the photo had no idea she would grow up to run her own salon.. But loving animals was never something she had to figure out!💜

If you look at her younger pictures, you’ll see that some things never change… especially her love for black labs. 😂🖤
Kenzie has been drawn to dogs for as long as she can remember, and that love eventually led her into the professional animal world in 2021. But what really makes Kenzie amazing isn’t just her experience, it’s the way she is with the pups.
She has one of the calmest, kindest energies I’ve ever seen. The kind of calm that dogs immediately pick up on.
Kenzie is incredibly gentle and patient, and takes the time to really meet each dog where they are that day. Watching her work, you can see how much respect she has for the trust these fur-babies are giving us.
Outside of the salon, her life still revolves around helping animals. She raises and trains service dogs through Partners with Paws, something she dedicates a huge amount of time + heart to. It’s given her an even deeper understanding of canine communication and the bond shared with the people who rely on them.
Kenzie joined Heart & Soul at the beginning of 2025, and she has become such an important part of what we do here. The care she gives every fur-client really reflects the values this salon was built on. I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better person to stand beside me.
From that young girl loving her black labs…
to the groomer she is today- that passion has never gone anywhere. 🖤🐾
