Wagging our way through Wednesday 🐾🐶

10/13/2026

Now that we’ve shown off our doggy kings & queens from Homecoming weekend, it’s only right that we share our HHK girls’ Homecoming photos, too!

They all work SO hard balancing school, sports, extracurriculars, and, of course, their jobs here at HHK. One thing that has always been incredibly important to Colleen and Kaylene is making sure our staff has the opportunity to enjoy special moments and make high school memories they’ll cherish forever and with so many of our girls being seniors this year, that makes these moments even more special!

They show up for us day in and day out, giving their time, energy, and hearts to our dogs and our team. While we know our furry guests missed them SO much this weekend, we couldn’t be happier that our girls got to dress up, make memories, enjoy all the Homecoming festivities, and celebrate their last high school Homecoming!

A HUGE special thank-you to Ana, Brenna, Bridget for helping Colleen hold down the fort at HHK while the girls enjoyed their big weekend! We appreciate you all more than you know!

Here’s to making memories, enjoying every moment, and soaking up all the fun that senior year has to offer! We love watching our team grow both inside and outside of HHK, and we’re so proud of each and every one of them!

Homecoming weekend means our guests were ready to be the star of the show! Whether they’re cheering on their favorite team or stealing the spotlight with their adorable faces, our visitors are always the King and Queens of HHK! 👑🏈🐾

🐾 HAPPY 2-YEAR ANNIVERSARY, ANNIKA! 🐾

Today we’re celebrating two whole years of Annika being part of the Herbst Haven Kennels family and with two years under her belt, she is officially considered a Senior Kennel Attendant!

Being a Senior Kennel Attendant is something special. It means having the time and experience to truly know the ins and outs of the job, understand our routines, and most importantly, know the expectations we have for making each and every one of our visitors’ stays truly unique and magical.

We are so lucky to have Annika on our team! She is reliable, dependable, trustworthy, and always willing to go the extra mile to help wherever she is needed. She is truly an absolutely wonderful employee, and we know we can always count on her which means so much to us!

Annika, thank you for these past two years of hard work, dedication, and for all the love and care you give to our four-legged visitors. We appreciate you more than you know and we know our visitors appreciate everything you do for them, too!

Please join us in congratulating Annika on this well-deserved milestone!

🐾 Meet Our Newest Team Member — Bridget! 🐾

We’re so excited to officially introduce you to Bridget, who has been part of the HHK team for the past three months! Over that time, she’s been learning all the ins and outs of our daily routines and getting to know all of the pups who come through our doors.

One of Bridget’s favorite parts of the job is getting to spend one-on-one time with each dog and learning their unique personalities.

When Bridget isn’t at HHK, you can usually find her camping, hiking, working out, or spending time with friends. She’s always up for a game of volleyball, spikeball, or ultimate frisbee! She also loves spending time with her labradoodle, Gauge, who keeps her busy when she’s not at the kennel.

When looking into the future, Bridget is interested in pursuing a degree in Fitness & Wellness with hopes of becoming a personal trainer at a private gym.

Please help us give Bridget a big, warm HHK welcome! If your pup comes to stay with us, there’s a good chance you’ll see Bridget’s smiling face during morning drop-offs and pick-ups! She’s an important part of our morning team, helping make sure each of our boarding guests starts their day happy and well cared for.

We’re so happy to have her on our team and can’t wait to see all the wonderful memories she makes with our HHK pups.

Welcome to the HHK family, Bridget!
