Miss Layla here who is a Maltipoo/Bolognese is one lucky girl! Her new Mom was at a house in Cincinnati measuring up for new flooring which she sells and commented on how sweet this lady’s dog was. The house owner told my client that she could have Layla as they don’t bother with her anymore! 😲 My client didn’t need telling twice and brought her home with her. What a great little dog to groom! She was very matted underneath and her legs were really bad with mats so Mom and I agreed that she needs to be kept short so she can run around without Mom worrying about the mats returning! She is also on a regular schedule so around her eyes and other places can be kept nice and tidy. She was so cute and soooooo excited to see her new family when they came to collect her 💜

This is Fiona, an adorable Bichon Frise and Shih Tzu mix! Mom had had a bad experience with a very uneven haircut from a previous groomer and wanted me to even her up but still keep her looking cute. Mom was also very worried that she wouldn’t behave herself but she was as good as gold and stood perfectly still for me! I evened all her coat up including trying to disguise hair that is too short and needs to grow! (The hair on her right ear was just too butchered for me to do anything but let it grow out!) Mom was so pleased when she picked Fiona up and immediately made another scheduled appointment for 8 weeks.

Good girl, Fiona, you are a sweet girl! 🐶🐾💜

This morning, a customer of mine hit Fluffy our grey cat and killed him. Fluffy was laid in the driveway and my customer must have clipped his head with his van. We are devastated.

I shouldn’t have to do this but there are going to be signs erected to SLOW DOWN, no please, no thank you, JUST DO IT. If you are entering our driveway, driving around it or leaving our driveway SLOW DOWN!

When one of my clients furbabies pass, I always light a candle and keep their appointment open in remembrance.

RIP Breesy, I will miss you more than you will know. You have been coming to me since Oct 2016 every 5 weeks so we have spent many many hours together and I will treasure every one of them.

I hope we meet again one day……🩷

Every time I receive a “Can you help?” text from Leslie at Preble County Humane Society and told “this one is really bad,” I think it can’t be as bad as the last dog I groomed from the rescue kennels but today Leslie was right, it’s possibly the most matted dog that I have groomed for the Humane Society!

Matilda (I named her because I liked the name!) was found and taken to Eaton Dog Warden a couple of days ago. She looks very much like a purebred Shih Tzu or a Shih Tzu mix. I really didn’t know where to start but slowly but surely I managed to release her little legs and tail from casts that had obviously been there a long time. She was the most delightful girl and I really felt she knew that I was trying to help her and stayed very still while I was using sharp tools to even get under the matting.

After her conditioning bath and massage which she loved, I could then finish her off evening up parts that had to be cut pretty short because they were so matted.

This girl deserves a life full of love and kisses and snuggles on the sofa so any enquiries as usual are to go to Preble County Humane Society at (937) 456-7387 or an online application form completed and submitted.

I promised this little girl today that all the while I am on this earth that she will never suffer like this again. Have a wonderful life, Matilda! 🐶🐾💜

Grooming these rescue dogs make me so humbled that I am part of an incredible group of angels from the Humane Society of Preble County that help turn these poor dogs lives around and let them thrive with new families that will shower them with love and care, something they haven’t experienced before.

Today was Cindy Lou Who’s turn (named from The Grinch because of her look!) and I am always amazed how well behaved these poor things are considering my grooming them ready for adoption is probably the first time they have ever had this much attention given to them. Cindy was surrendered to the Humane Society totally flea infested and was treated by them immediately.

During her spa day with me she had all her mats removed, a deep conditioning shampoo followed by a body massage allowing the conditioner to work miracles. After her inch long nails were cut and dremeled and her incredible ears and tail evened up, she emerged a totally different looking dog!

My guess is she is perhaps a Maltese or perhaps a Maltese mix but those ears have a life of their own! She has the most amazing temperament and would make someone a wonderful companion!
