Does anybody know this dog ? He wandered to a farmhouse early this morning 3 miles west of Wessington and is now staying at Foster House while we look for his owners. I apologize to my neighbors…he is not happy about being contained 😑 Call me at 605-204-0734 with any information !!!

I don’t make many rules but I’m making one today.

If you have a dog who requires regular grooming and you bring that dog for boarding and he/she is behind on grooming, his/her backside WILL be checked before you leave the premises to check for the presence of p**p balls or the beginning of p**p balls and to determine if immediate trimming is needed to prevent p**p balls.

No ifs ands or butts. And I am not being funny.

I’m a little sad 😞 We decided to take the sign off the gate so that Refillery customers aren’t confused as to what they should do when they pull in. This sign has been the difference between chaos and calm for the past couple of years and I’ve been so proud of Everyone for respecting its message and being attentive to it. Thank you, thank you 💖💖

While we get the Refillery up and going and figure out if it will need its very own home, be patient because now it will be you guys who might be a little confused. Even with the sign, I do plenty of waving people in and texting come on in 🤪😂 so maybe those methods will get us through ?!!😘 If not, we’ll figure out something else but most of you have been here so many times, I think we’ll be alright 💖💖

Happy Monday !! Here’s just a quick note to tell you CW Reffillery will be open to EVERYONE starting Wednesday September 2nd ‼️

These past couple of weeks have been a flurry of show and tell for any boarding and grooming clients coming through who had an interest in all the changes and additions to the Dog Shoppe !! Such a heartwarming response !!💖 These interactions were very beneficial for beginning to get an idea of what products will be wanted and needed. A special thank you to my sister-in-law who, on her way through, stopped in and let us practice with our first “container fill up” !!💖

While we do have a variety of products available for filling a container of your choice, we also have pre-packaged products in containers you can bring back and refill if you choose. I call them grab-n-go’s. Such an easy way to get started !!!😘

Feel free to stop in anytime 9:00-5:00 Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday this week to check it out ‼️ We’ll post times for Saturday later in the week. We will continually have orders going in for awhile until we get everyone’s favorites and must-haves figured out and fully stocked. Stop in and see if we already have what you’re looking for ‼️

We are located at 230 Barden St in Wessington at Foster House Dog Shoppe. Just follow the sidewalk all the way back to the double aqua doors and walk right in if the OPEN sign is lit up. We’ll be glad to see you 🤩!!🤩

Ok, here's the "scoop." No more keeping it "bottled" up 😁

We are going to open a refillery. I'm not sure who knows what that is, so, in a nutshell, it is a store where customers bring their own container, or buy one there, to refill with such items as personal care and beauty products, household products (dish soap and laundry soap etc), and food staples (spices and grains etc).

The objective is to minimize plastic and packaging waste in landfills by eliminating single-use containers by reusing and refilling. The products offered are non-toxic, natural, and organic, making them even more appealing for those trying to reduce toxins in their lives.

When I discovered that these refilleries are popping up everywhere, I immediately thought we should have one here too. Our refillery will be offering household and personal care products only and will start out in the Dog Shoppe at Foster House. No food items will be available at this time. Our research has brought to light a few suppliers whose products contain no chemicals, synthetic ingredients, or dyes and we hope to add items created by local artisans. If there is enough interest in the products we stock, we hope to add a mobile option as well as shipping refill pouches for added convenience

We do still have some details that need to fall into p!ace before we can officially open but we are very close to inviting you in to have a peek, smell some scents, and maybe even take a sample home to try. Watch for upcoming posts where we start introducing you to our beginning lineup. We hope you are as excited as we are for an outlet for safer and healthier products !!!

‼️ Exciting Changes ‼️

With just a few final details yet to put into place, I want to let you all know something new is coming to Foster House. And I’m chomping at the bit to spill the news.

There’s more I’ve been wanting to do here. I do think a lot of people know that. There’s been so many conversations about those things along the way 🤪 Boarding and grooming consistently take all my time so any and all those plans continually get pushed aside.

So…….when somebody hears a new idea you have and says, “If you manage it, I’ll run it,” you sit up and take notice and realize here’s your chance to go forward with all those old plans sitting there on the back burner as well as jumping headlong into the new-idea side gig too !!!! Why not, right ?

Just a couple more days of putting some things in place and I’ll let you in on the secret 😎 Stay tuned ‼️

Thank you to everyone who played the did-you-know game. What a blast to see hands go up and all the comments !!! And I’m assuming the likes and loves are the ones who didn’t know but know now 😂🥰

It’s not at all uncommon for me to sit with my book in my lap for sometimes 45 minutes at a time trying to make a visit work for someone. Both buildings have a collection of different sized kennels. Some dogs need the quietest room, or the largest, or even the smallest. Some can only stay in one certain building or in one certain room. Most are much more versatile 😂🥰 And because of the many reasons boarding is needed, the days and times for picking up/dropping off can vary enormously. It can be very challenging to get everyone into the rooms where they will be the happiest for the entirety of their stay but so worth it when I get a puzzle figured out and a request on the calendar 💖😎 There have been times, tho, I’ve said no only to have something ni**le in my brain and, upon a second look, an answer is right there 💖 My motto is “If I have a spot, I’ll say yes”. Just so you know 😘
