Good Dog Adoption Agency, Inc. GDAA is a nonprofit rescue which focuses on saving pit bulls (cats sometimes) and adopting them into loving homes. We are not a shelter, we do not have kennels.

Our dogs (& cats) are kept in foster homes like normal pets until they are adopted. The GDAA is not a shelter facility. We are a network of foster families that care for abandoned pit bulls in our own homes and adopt them to loving and responsible families. We do not have a kennel. Each dog we take into our rescue gets cared for as a normal family pet. This prepares them for being adopted into a l

oving family. All of our dogs are fully vetted and healthy prior to adoption. We also offer cats & kittens for adoption at times when working with feral colonies. These kitties are fully vetted and socialized prior to adoption.

He was just released today! This red tailed hawk came to us three weeks ago. He was unable to stand, very thin, very weak and his blood wouldn’t clot normally. After being treated for rat poison, he is a whole new hawk. Strong and majestic, as nature intended. Ready to help us control the rodent population for free…

We see this a lot of sick predators come into the rescue after they eat rodents that have been poisoned.

Wildlife rehabilitators have been complaining about the effects rodenticides are having on our predator species for years….

We just had more yard signs made and will post about how you can get your soon! We ordered them in bulk and aren’t trying to make anything off of them. We just want to get them out there so we can spread the information.

Most people wouldn’t use these poisons if they really understood the impact they have on non target species.

Education is key. Let’s help spread the word.

For years, animal advocates have fought to see stronger protections for dogs used in organized fighting operations. In Hawaii, that effort led to a major change in the law aimed at holding dog fighting organizers and participants accountable.

The measure, signed into law by Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie, strengthened penalties for those involved in dog fighting activities. The law made organizing, sponsoring, or participating in dog fights a serious felony offense and created tougher consequences for people who profit from or support these cruel operations.

Dog fighting is not just a crime against animals. It is a form of abuse where dogs are often bred, trained, and forced into violent encounters while suffering severe injuries and trauma. Many animals used in these operations spend their lives in isolation and are treated as tools for gambling and entertainment.

The updated law also targeted the wider network behind dog fighting, including those who arrange fights, place bets, or provide equipment used to prepare dogs for combat. By focusing on the people who enable these operations, Hawaii took a stronger approach toward stopping organized cruelty.

Animal advocates called the move an important victory for dogs and a reminder that laws can help protect animals from exploitation. While the fight against animal cruelty continues, stronger penalties send a clear message that organized dog fighting has no place in society. Dogs deserve protection, compassion, and a life free from violence.

Since it is almost September, there are a limited number of vouchers available for 2026.
