🐾PSA- Protect Your Dog from Canine Distemper and Parvo with one vaccine🐾 Unfortunately, we have seen cases of both of these this month and want to express the importance of this vaccine.

Canine distemper is a highly contagious and serious viral disease that can affect your dog’s respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems—and in many cases, it can be life-threatening.

This virus spreads easily through the air (coughing, sneezing, barking) or shared items like food and water bowls. Even contact with wildlife such as raccoons or skunks can put your dog at risk.

Canine parvovirus (“parvo”) is a highly contagious and potentially deadly virus that primarily affects puppies and unvaccinated dogs.

This virus attacks the intestines and immune system, causing severe illness that can become life-threatening in as little as 48–72 hours without treatment.

💉 The good news? It’s preventable.
Vaccination is the most effective way to protect your dog from distemper/parvo and help prevent the spread of this dangerous disease.

🐶 Puppies and unvaccinated dogs are especially at risk—so staying up to date on vaccines is critical for their health and safety.

💉 The good news: it’s preventable.
Vaccination is the most effective way to protect your dog from parvo. Puppies need a series of vaccines starting as early as 6–8 weeks old, followed by boosters to maintain protection.

📅 If your pet is due (or overdue) for vaccines, give us a call—we’re here to help keep your furry family members safe and healthy!

Sundays we are closed to the public but this past Sunday, Dr. Lucas, Amanda, and a special group of volunteers came together to spend their day to spay/neuter approx 30 dogs! There are so many animals with rescues that its hard to keep up on surgery spots. So every now and then, a day is volunteered to try to help those rescues "catch up" on surgeries.

Amanda and Dr.. Lucas have been at conference to expand our knowledge, research new equipment and technology, and build meaningful relationships within the veterinary community. All of this helps us continue to grow and better serve our patients and clients. We’re excited to bring back new ideas, tools, and connections to further Animal Talk Medical Center and the care we provide every day! 🐾💙
