🐾PSA- Protect Your Dog from Canine Distemper and Parvo with one vaccine🐾 Unfortunately, we have seen cases of both of these this month and want to express the importance of this vaccine.
Canine distemper is a highly contagious and serious viral disease that can affect your dog’s respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems—and in many cases, it can be life-threatening.
This virus spreads easily through the air (coughing, sneezing, barking) or shared items like food and water bowls. Even contact with wildlife such as raccoons or skunks can put your dog at risk.
Canine parvovirus (“parvo”) is a highly contagious and potentially deadly virus that primarily affects puppies and unvaccinated dogs.
This virus attacks the intestines and immune system, causing severe illness that can become life-threatening in as little as 48–72 hours without treatment.
💉 The good news? It’s preventable.
Vaccination is the most effective way to protect your dog from distemper/parvo and help prevent the spread of this dangerous disease.
🐶 Puppies and unvaccinated dogs are especially at risk—so staying up to date on vaccines is critical for their health and safety.
💉 The good news: it’s preventable.
Vaccination is the most effective way to protect your dog from parvo. Puppies need a series of vaccines starting as early as 6–8 weeks old, followed by boosters to maintain protection.
📅 If your pet is due (or overdue) for vaccines, give us a call—we’re here to help keep your furry family members safe and healthy!
