🚨 Groot is here to get your attention for an important update! 🐾

Due to an unexpected family emergency, we will not have a veterinarian in the office today, Friday, August 28th.

Our team will still be here and available to:
🐾 Answer phones
🐾 Help with scheduling
🐾 Assist with medication pickups
🐾 Help with other non-doctor needs

Unfortunately, we will not be able to see appointments or provide veterinary exams today.

If your pet is experiencing an urgent medical concern, please contact VSS West in Winghaven for assistance.

Let’s be honest… cats aren’t always thrilled about going to the vet. 😹 But regular veterinary visits are one of the best ways to keep your feline friend healthy, happy, and living their best nine lives!

🚗 Making the trip a little safer & less stressful:
🐾 Keep your cat safely secured in a sturdy carrier—never let them roam loose in the car.
🐾 Leave the carrier out at home so it becomes a familiar, comfortable space instead of the “uh-oh, we're going to the vet” box.
🐾 Add a familiar blanket or towel that smells like home.
🐾 Secure the carrier with a seat belt or place it securely on the floor of the vehicle.
🐾 Keep the car quiet and at a comfortable temperature.
🐾 If your cat gets extremely stressed or carsick, talk with your veterinarian about options to make future visits easier.

And remember, cats are experts at hiding illness! A cat who seems perfectly fine at home may still have dental disease, arthritis, kidney issues, or other problems that aren't obvious to their family.

🥵 The heat isn't just uncomfortable—it can be deadly for our pets.

As temperatures climb, it only takes minutes for a pet to suffer from heatstroke. Dogs and cats can't cool themselves the way we can, so even a quick trip outside or a few minutes in a parked car can become a life-threatening emergency.

🐾 Help keep your furry family members safe: 💧 Always provide fresh, cool water. 🌳 Limit outdoor time and make sure they have plenty of shade. 🏡 Keep pets indoors during the hottest parts of the day. 🚗 Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle—not even for "just a minute."

⚠️ Watch for signs of heatstroke: • Heavy panting • Excessive drooling • Weakness or stumbling • Vomiting • Collapse

If you think your pet is overheating, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of cool (not ice-cold) water, and contact your veterinarian immediately.
