If you didn’t know, equine vet med has a very high su***de rate and we just lost another horse doc. Remember to be kind.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Cierra Cadena, a member of our intern team at the Equine Medical Center of Ocala. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew and loved her.

Dr. Cadena was an amazing individual and a valued member of our team. Her loss is felt deeply throughout our organization and our profession.

We are 13 days into loving our sweet little Sloane and are slowly getting caught up on our paperwork, emails, scripts, callbacks, etc.

Thank you to our amazing office manager, Nicole, for keeping our phones answered and getting everyone’s needs met!

Building a More Sustainable Large-Animal Practice

The future of large-animal veterinary medicine WILL require team-based medicine.

DVMs should be able to delegate appropriate responsibilities to credentialed technicians who have the education, competency, clinical judgment, and confidence to carry them out.

The objective isn't simply to make the technician "busier" or take roles away from the DVM.

It's to make the entire veterinary team more capable, more efficient, and able to provide care to more patients in need.

When we utilize credentialed veterinary technicians to their full potential, we can increase practice capacity, improve efficiency, strengthen patient monitoring, provide more consistent herd-health support, and allow DVMs to concentrate on the highest-level medical decisions.

Don't just delegate tasks. Develop clinical thinkers.

Don't just add staff. Build capacity.

Don't ask the DVM to do everything. Build a team that can do more.

Our baby girl made her debut a week ago today!

Kaylen Rose you guessed the closest to her due date and weight!

You guessed September 8th at 8 pounds 2 ounces. Sloane was born on September 8th at 9 pounds 5 ounces!

Congratulations!!! We will send you your gift card!!

The plan for now is we are going to start light scheduling end of September! Patients needing in sooner for rechecks will be seen sooner.
