A definition of Oxidation Reduction Potential is just as it sounds - what potential any substance has, at reducing the oxidation. Obviously, oxidation is something we want to avoid….ever left nails out in the rain? We measure ORP by using an ORP meter. It measures the electricity of any substance in mV. Anything that has a positive reading (+) is adding oxidation to our bodies, again, something we want to avoid. A negative reading (-) is subtracting oxidation from our bodies, therefore, an antioxidant, which is what we want. We have all heard that vitamin C and green tea are two of the highest antioxidants we can put in our bodies but as you can see from the chart above they are minimal compared to Kangen water. Notice the range of negative ORP of the Kangen water. The quality of the water produced by the device is in direct relation to the quantity of minerals in the water. In order to create electrolysis, you must have minerals in the water, the more minerals the better electrolysis that can take place, hence the range. For example, well water tends to have more minerals then municipal water so you would tend to get a higher negative ORP reading from the well water. Remember, negative is good, a potential of subtracting (-) damage. A definition of an antioxidant is any substance that has one or more electrons to donate. When water passes through the unit, over the electrolysis plates, a hydrogen atom is pulled off and sent out a discharge hose but its electron is left with the remaining hydrogen and oxygen atoms. Since it has an “extra” electron to donate, to stabilize a free radical, it is now considered an antioxidant. SUPER HYDRATING:
