The York Pointer & Setter Club grounds will be sprayed following the Hunt Test on Sunday, May 17. The grounds will be temporarily closed and will reopen on Tuesday, May 19.

Another great Chukar Challenge weekend in the books at the York Pointer & Setter Club!

Thank you to everyone who came out to run dogs, judge, plant birds, marshal, and lend a hand throughout the weekend. Events like this only happen because of the great people in our bird dog community.

Congratulations to all of the winners and their outstanding dogs in each division. 🏆 Your results are posted below. Great work to everyone who placed!
We appreciate everyone who traveled in, supported the club, and helped make it another successful weekend. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

Membership Meeting Location Change for Saturday 1/24/25
Due to the cold weather forecast, our upcoming YPSC membership meeting will now be held just down the street from the clubhouse. We will be meeting in the back room at Ray of Sunshine Diner, located at 7523 Carlisle Road, Wellsville, PA 17365.
The meeting will begin at 12:00 PM, and food will be available to order.

It’s that time of the year again! Reach out to Michael Paladino or Danny Lease. Saturday will be singles fields for flushing, pointing and puppy and then Sunday for doubles flushing and pointing!

Update!

Thank you to all the members who showed up to help seed and straw the breakaway. The project is complete. All of your help is much appreciated in completing the improvement quickly!

Also, a special thank you to Greg Strausbaugh for bringing his personal equipment to help mow the grounds while we await new equipment.

Membership Help Needed – Breakaway Grounds

The breakaway has been reconstructed and now we need some membership support to finish the job!

Seed and rakes are on the clubhouse porch, and straw is already at the breakaway. If you can spare even an hour, please help by raking an area, broadcasting some seed, and covering it with straw.

If you’re coming out to run your dog, we ask that you spend a little extra time improving the grounds. Or, feel free to come out without your dog and simply lend a hand—it all makes a difference for the club!

A special thanks goes out to the Grounds Committee for getting this project started. Now let’s work together to finish it strong!
