Interesting series about hirudotherapy (leeches) for horses!

**𝗘𝘀𝗽𝗮ñ𝗼𝗹 𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗷𝗼**⁣
In the first part of the series on hirudotherapy, “Organic Little Pharmacies: Leeches for Horses,” Martsje Bergsma of SensaHorse explained the ways in which leeches can help solve several common problems and conditions in equines. For the second installment, Bergsma and HorseGrooms dive into the details on how leeches actually work their magic, what to expect during and after a hirudotherapy appointment and the FEI’s stance on the slimy creatures.⁣

Interesting read...

The movement of a horse's organs impacts its overall well-being, and a lack of movement can cause many health risks, including colic.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Although mental health is an important topic for everyone involved in the horse industry, what has become abundantly clear over the past years is that veterinarians are getting hit the hardest. The su***de rate among veterinarians is extremely high.

As a vet-tech and former groom, Laura Elser talks about how we can collaborate better with our veterinarians, make their life a little less stressful (while still getting the best care for our horses), and not add more strain to a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
