Gucci the Bulldog came ready to work today! We practiced her sit and come commands, and she did such a great job listening and responding. We also worked on walking politely on a leash, and she made fantastic progress.
This sweet girl is learning that training can be fun, and we're so proud of her hard work today. Way to go, Gucci! 🐾

Absolutely not!
Dogs can learn new behaviors at any age.

An older dog may have more established habits than a young puppy, but that doesn't mean they're incapable of learning.
In fact, training can be a great way to keep your dog's mind engaged while strengthening the bond between you.

A reliable recall is one of the most valuable skills you can teach your dog.

But "Come!" doesn't magically become reliable because you've said it 500 times.

Dogs need to learn that responding to your cue is worthwhile — and that coming to you doesn't always mean the fun is over.

Building a strong recall takes practice, consistency, and the right approach.

Common Owner Mistake
🐾 One of the most common training mistakes?

Expecting your dog to understand something before they've actually been taught it.

We sometimes forget that our dogs don't automatically know what "good behavior" means.

Instead of:
❌ "Why won't you listen?!"

Try asking:
➡️ "Have I clearly taught this behavior?"
➡️ "Have we practiced it enough?"
➡️ "Is the environment too distracting?"
➡️ "Am I being consistent?"

Training gets easier when we think like teachers instead of simply expecting obedience.

And that's exactly where professional guidance can help.
