Meet Sophie!
Born and raised in the Houston area, Sophie has loved animals for as long as she can remember. She’s been grooming for 10 years and has loved every step of the journey.
Outside of Barkwood, Sophie is a mom of three, a proud cat mom to four, and married to her lifelong best friend. Her favorite thing is spending time together as a family, whether they’re out making memories or relaxing at home with her cats and a good movie or TV show.
Sophie loves most about grooming is getting to know each dog’s unique quirks and personality. She approaches every dog as an individual and takes the time to learn what works best for them. And there’s nothing better than earning the trust of a dog who isn’t exactly a fan of grooming at first!
Sophie’s goals for the future are to dive deeper into creative grooming, continue elevating her haircuts, develop her own unique grooming style, and take the leap into grooming competitions.
When she’s not grooming, you can find Sophie journaling, crafting, dreaming about the beach (where she got married!), watching movies with her cats, or changing up her hair color just because she can.
Fun fact: Sophie’s grooming journey started with Gibbs as her original instructor, and she even has the graduation photo to prove it!
