Success Story Saturday! 🥳
Nysa was adopted August 20th by our administrative assistant Stacie!
“Nysa was surrendered because she was at risk of behavioral euthanasia- she had bitten her previous owners and had apparently had several fights with other dogs that required them to receive medical attention. When she got to the shelter, I saw a scared and misunderstood little girl who just hadn’t been given the right environment to succeed.
Given her bite history, we knew we needed to find her a home that would understand her triggers and not blame her or give up on her for how she’d been treated in the past… so I brought her home to foster. She immediately formed a bond with my son and coexists wonderfully with my 2 other dogs- needless to say, it was a fast foster fail! She loves to run and play with my Rott mix, and submits without question to my sassy senior border collie who thinks she’s the boss. Even my 2 grumpy cats humor her and play when she gets in a silly mood!
Nysa is a perfect example of why it’s so important to learn how dogs communicate and to speak their language- she is now in a home where she’s heard and accommodated and is thriving.”
