Morning reflections 🤗
42 years in the horse show game has taught me what truly matters. It's not about the blue ribbons or trophies, but about the quiet moments with these amazing creatures and the people who love them.
I've been shaped by the good and the bad, and I'm proud of the impact I've made. Now, I'm striving for peace and fulfillment. I want to be remembered as the horsewoman who cared, who loved her horses and clients like family.
Victory isn't just about winning – it's about happy, healthy horses and watching people grow. Like this morning, when a stoic horse came to me for a neck scratch 🐴💕. Or when a young rider nails their pattern or gets their diagonals 🎉.
I'm grateful for the little moments that make it all worth it. Here's to making a difference in a few lives 🤍

Ten years and vanished---

It’s a familiar scenario. A Young Rider bursts onto the scene like a Fourth Of July rocket.

Well funded, well horsed, well coached, often confident to the point of being cocky, he or she comes across as the greatest thing since sliced bread.

The kids in the trenches are struggling while Jed and Jane are flying. Now a decade passes, 8 years, twelve years, fifteen. Where are Jed and Jane? Once in a while you see them still flying high, household names in some riding discipline, but more often it will be “Jed who?”

And one or two of those scrappy underfunded, overlooked kids might well be kings and queens of the castle.

So, kids and especially parents, a word of advice. Tone it down about just how glorious you are. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, and many of today’s stars are tomorrow’s forgottens.

And for the gritty ones? Keep scrapping if you can.

We have had an influx of inquiries for lessons, here are some FAQ's

Clearmeadow is a show barn, our main model is developing youth and amateur exhibitors is western and hunter pleasure and equitation.

We do not instruct barrel racers or over fences riders. However, we can teach the fundamentals to go forth and do these things under different instructors/trainers.

We have American Morgan Horses, they are versatile, highly trained and no, they're not gaited.

We travel to several shows a season from local, open shows to A rated shows with main ring and academy classes to our Grand National and World Championship show.

We suggest at least weekly lessons and four lesson discounted packages are offered as well.

Please feel free to message with any questions.

Meet Gypsy! Gyspy is aged around 8-10 years old. Gypsy was rescued out of Webb, AL. We were contacted by a local horse lover about a horse that was down in a pasture in need of help. We agreed to take her in and she went straight to the local vet hospital where she spent the next 6 weeks. She has club foot in both front feet. At her initial vet intake, she had MAJOR work done on her severely overgrown hooves. This was done slowly over the course of her 6 weeks in the hospital by a vet. She also had several x-rays to watch her rotation closely. Gypsy is recovering well and we will continue to provide her with the best care for her condition. Sadly, she will never fully recover. We do have a special farrier that comes every 4 weeks to work on her feet under the direction of our vet. She also gets bodywork done after every farrier visit. Gypsy is also on a special diet to make sure she doesn't gain too much more weight. Gypsy also has pads that she has to stand on daily and we have boots for her to wear to also give her some cushion on her front feet. Gypsy would only be adopted out to someone that can continue with her care, which is expensive. She is also limited to a small pasture/dry lot since she isn't able to move around like a normal pony. (Don't worry, she has her little friend, Tinkerbell, with her at all times.)

Hello Clearmeadow Crew. We would like to implement some changes in 2026 for horse shows. After a couple last minute cancellations that cost our farm funds we are going to move forward 2/1/2026 as follows;

If you are interested in showing with us here is how we will choose who shows what horse. Owner first, then those who lease and finally lesson clients. I know that some will find this hard but, we are only looking to be fair.

We require a non refundable deposit on all shows. Once the invoice is handed to you I will require you to follow through. The only cancellations accepted are health/weather or canceled by Clearmeadow.

Open Shows
Shipping $50
Day fees per rider $65
Class fees as charged
All required as deposit

Breed Shows
Shipping $.75 a mile
Even split of hotel, sponsorships, tack, feed stalls and ready room by the horse
Day fees of $65 a day per rider
Braiding and groom fees as needed
