Hi everyone!

One day we will all be back to work, kids will either be back to school or off for the summer and we can begin enjoying time with one another again. When this occurs, however, your dog will be left alone again, after spending time with you and the family on a full-time basis during this pandemic.

Please consider the behavioral wellness of your dog after all of this is over with. If you are having problems now, please contact me through email at [email protected]. I am offering online consultations at this time so you can have someone nearby to ask questions.

Ugh! What does one do for mental wellness? 😔

Buncombe County Government + other local partners are taking measures to prepare for the potential spread of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, which includes considering the safety of our park visitors and recreation program participants.

Beginning today + lasting until further notice:
// All Buncombe County parks + fields are closed to the public. Athletic field permits are canceled through March 31 with a plan to reassess on or before that date.
// All Buncombe County Recreation Services programming + special events are canceled or postponed.
// All picnic shelter rentals are canceled through April 30 + no new reservations will be accepted. Existing rentals can be rescheduled for a date later than April 30 or issued a 100% credit or refund. Please email [email protected] for assistance.

○ Asheville Humane Society now offers six-week training courses for your current or newly-adopted pet. AHS has teamed up with Pia Silvani, a canine behavior specialist + trainer, for the classes, which include puppy kindergarten + canine manners. Classes begin Feb. 9 with a portion of the proceeds going to support the animals in AHS’ care.
