Weatherford Whiskers Weatherford Whiskers is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue group. We rescue, rehab and assist in re-homing high risk cats.

Mission Statement

Weatherford Whiskers is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue group. We rescue high risk cats for our local shelters. Once rescued, we place the pet in experienced foster homes where they receive love, are socialized for family life and given top notch vet care including vaccinations and are spayed/neutered, before being placed up for adoption in to a furever home!

Our highly trained volunteers can also assist with Trap/Neuter/Return of feral cats to their colonies.

Weatherford Whiskers will be closed on Wednesday - June 17th. We will reopen Thursday - June 18th.

We would like to wish our founder and president, Carole Malugani, a very happy birthday! Weatherford Whiskers was born of her vision that every cat and kitten have a safe, loving home. It is her dream that every unowned cat be spayed or neutered and have someone to care for it, and that no more kittens be born into the hardships of homelessness. It is her goal that no more unwanted kittens flood shelters and rescues every year, with the loss of so many innocent lives. She works hard every day to take care of our rescue cats, shelter cats, and community cats. She puts in much time and effort (and sweat!) in our TNR program, even assisting in the surgery room during WAS Whisker Wednesday!

If you would like to honor her birthday, please consider having a community cat in your neighborhood spayed or neutered. Offer to foster a litter of kittens to save their lives (area shelters are FULL!). You may also consider a contribution to our North Texas Giving Day fundraiser (link below) or other options below, a gift from our Amazon or Chewy wishlists (links below), or you may drop donations off at our adoption center. But don’t come by expecting to see her today, as we gave her some time off! Show her you appreciate her dedication, drive and hard work to help the cats and kittens of Parker County and beyond!

We are past capacity and this person walked in carrying the basket with 3 kittens it. She said she was coming to visit the cats and saw that someone had left these sitting by the porch. SHE LIED!!! Looking back on the cameras it was HER!! Do you know who she is??? Please send us a PM.
You can say it is better that what she could have done with them, yes it is BUT does that make it ok to lie to dump on someone else.
We have been hit hard the last few weeks with people that have adopted cats from years ago and just show up to return them. We
have had 5 adult cats ( 2 sets of 2 and a single) returned to us after being adopted from us as much as 5 years ago and of course NO VETTING since adopted.

We have another birthday today. Please help us wish Duane Del Vecchio a very happy birthday. Duane (The barn cat guy) is one of our AMAZING volunteers that keeps our center running. He helps clean, works the desk, runs errands, hauls litter and water, takes out the trash, maintains our flower beds, works with our student volunteer groups, does our computer work and keeps our pages up to date, helps the Wfrd shelter by working Whisker Wednesday and handles all aspects of the barn cat program. There is not a thing Duane will not do to help save the cats. We are beyond BLESSED to have him on our team. We hope your day is as awesome as you are. We could not run this rescue without you.

Our Pet Food Pantry shelves are almost bare. There are lots of hungry dogs and cats that depend on this food. Please help if you can. We will take any brand and any size. If you have food your pet doesn’t like we would be glad to have it. Hungry dogs and cats aren’t picky. We also take open bags.

We not only help to stop the overpopulation of kittens, we are doing our part to help with the overpopulation of dogs as well. We took 4 more out of the puppy making business. TCAP (Texas Coalition for Animal Protection) offers low cost spay/ neuters and vaccinations. They fill up fast so call TCAP today to book your appointment.
