PSA:
Congress hears from lobbyists every day. On Tuesday, November 10 at 9:30 AM CT, we want them to hear directly from farmers, ranchers, and the people working to strengthen local food systems.

Join FARFA’s Virtual Fly-In and meet directly with congressional offices to advocate for independent agriculture.

Our primary focus will be building support for the bipartisan Egg Grower Grading Modernization (EGG) Act.

The EGG Act would create a pathway for farms with 3,000 or fewer laying hens to sell ungraded eggs to restaurants, retailers, and other food establishments within their state while maintaining food safety, refrigeration, labeling, and traceability requirements.

But our work doesn't stop with eggs.

We'll also discuss FARFA's broader federal priorities, including the LOCAL Foods Act and PRIME Act, and the need for federal policies that expand local processing, strengthen independent producers, and create fairer markets.

These policies affect real farms and real livelihoods, and your experience can make the case more powerfully than any fact sheet.

FARFA will provide participants with training, talking points, and support. You provide the most important part: your story.

Contributing to sustainable agriculture isn’t just about how you grow your crops. It’s about how you care for the land around you.

Living this way doesn’t require fancy products or giving up the things you enjoy. It simply starts with valuing life—and making choices that respect the land, animals, and natural world around us. 🌻

See how simple actions can make a difference. What’s your favorite way to contribute to a more sustainable future?

Help your feed deliver even more by fermenting it.

Fermentation is a natural process that allows microorganisms to break down carbohydrates and sugars, offering additional nutritional benefits along the way. It also creates that distinct, earthy smell that chickens love.

And the best part? Any of our feeds can be fermented.

P.S. Some feeds add essential oils to make fermentation smell a little better to us humans. We leave those out because we’d rather make feed that appeals to your animals. Besides, what’s one more funny smell around the farm?

We know shipping costs can play a big role in what you’re able to feed your animals. We’re grateful to be able to ship nationwide, but our local retailers also play an important part in making organic feed more affordable and accessible in communities across the country.

If your local feed store doesn’t carry New Country Organics, consider asking if they’d be willing to. Many stores take customer recommendations and may stock products their community is asking for.

This National Farmers Day, we’re proud to celebrate the farmers—big and small—who dedicate their days to growing, raising, and caring for what sustains us all.

Farmers do more than grow crops and raise animals. They care for the land, adapt to changing seasons, steward resources, support their communities, and help keep our food system moving. Thank you for all that you do!

Sometimes the best sign that you’re doing things right is right in front of you. 🐓

When you spend time with your flock every day, you get to know what healthy looks like—and you’re often the first to notice when something changes.

We often get asked by new owners what to look for in healthy chickens. What advice would you share?

Our team is proud to be here for more than simply making organic feed. We’re here to answer questions, help you understand your options, and guide you toward the nutrition that makes sense for your flock.

Thank you, Terri, for trusting New Country Organics with your flock!
