Will SOMEONE adopt Snorkel already??? He's been with us since JANUARY and is officially the world's saddest kitty boy! Snorkel has been through SO MUCH in in 9+ years of life, and it shows. Everyone here at the shelter adores him! Snorks might not be the "prettiest" kitty, but he's got the heart to make up for it and we think he's absolutely adorable. You can come visit Snorkel in our Cat Adoption Room any time we're open, which means you can fall in love with him in person, not just over social media...How about giving the sweetest senior boy a home before the next one comes around?? APPLY TO ADOPT SNORKEL ON OUR WEBSITE:

PS: adopt ANY senior kitty 8+ y/o from SAWAS for a reduced fee of $50! That includes all of his vetting, spay/neuter medical care, vaccines and microchip. Special thanks to Friends of Staunton Augusta Waynesboro Animal Shelter for providing funds for his initial medical needs!

It's rabies awareness week! All dogs and cats are required to be rabies vaccinated. Even with a current rabies certificate, if your dog or cat is exposed to rabies he/she should receive a booster vaccine and be confined at home for 45 days of observation.

Rabies is transmitted through bites or when wet saliva or central nervous system tissue from a rabid animal enters an open wound or mucous membranes like the eyes, nose, or mouth of your pet. High-risk animals include raccoons, skunks, foxes, bats, and in VA, groundhogs.

If your pet may have been exposed to a rabid or high-risk animal, call us at 540-943-3081 to schedule a rabies booster.
