🚨 FOUND DOGS – TOWN OF WAYNE 🚨
A male and female dog were found this morning inside the salt shed at the Town of Wayne Town Barn.
🐾 Proof of ownership AND current rabies vaccination must be provided before the dogs can be released.
Please share so we can get these two back home where they belong! 🐶❤️

🚨 Missing Dog – Please Help Bring Mocker Home!

Mocker, a standard Goldendoodle who was recently groomed, ran from his home on Keuka Village Road after becoming frightened by fireworks.

He is wearing a light blue Keuka Lake collar, is microchipped, and answers to the name Mocker. He is very friendly but is likely scared.
He may have crossed the highway and headed up the hill toward Wayne.

Copied and pasted from another organization: the past two years, I’ve been noticing the frustration and outrage towards animal shelters because we are so full… Believe me, we do not want to be full all the time…

“Before you direct your anger at animal shelters and animal control officers, take a hard look at the real cause of the crisis.
The shelter did not breed these dogs. The shelter did not fail to spay and neuter them. The shelter did not dump them on the side of the road, abandon them when they became inconvenient, or allow them to roam unaltered and produce litter after litter.
People did.
Every year, millions of dogs and cats enter shelters across the United States. Many arrive as strays, unwanted litters, owner surrenders, or victims of neglect. Animal control officers and shelter staff are left to deal with the consequences of irresponsible pet ownership every single day.
Animal shelters were never meant to be the solution to pet overpopulation. They were meant to be a safety net—a last resort when all other options have been exhausted.
If you're angry about crowded shelters, be angry at backyard breeding. Be angry at people who refuse to spay and neuter. Be angry at owners who dump animals when life gets inconvenient. Be angry at those who treat pets as disposable.
The shelter is not creating the problem. They are dealing with it.
The people working in shelters and animal control often face heartbreaking decisions, compassion fatigue, public criticism, and impossible circumstances. Yet they continue showing up every day for animals that others have failed.
If we want to see fewer animals in shelters, the answer isn't more blame. It's more responsibility.
Spay and neuter.
Microchip your pets.
Keep them contained.
Commit for life.
Adopt when you can.
The shelter shouldn't have to carry the weight of our community's choices”.

🐾 Loose Dog Reported – Alderman Road Area 🐾
We received a call from a resident on Alderman Road reporting a small to medium-sized dog running loose in the area. The caller initially thought it was a calico cat from a distance, but stated it appeared to be larger than a cat upon closer observation.
If this may be your dog, or if you have any information regarding its whereabouts, please contact Dog Control as soon as possible.
