Eight years.
This business has been the only thing that has given back to me. It’s the one thing in my life that has been a constant, and brought me so much joy.
Yes I LOVE dogs but I also have loved how I’ve been able to serve my community…
Keeping clients’ dogs while they are at doctors appointments
Playing a small part in someone’s vacation or birthday celebration
Helping keep an engagement a surprise
Welcoming new families to our community who just moved from out of state
Giving dogs that everyone else had turned down a chance to feel safe in an environment without the chaos—and watching them grow to love coming to see me.
I could go on and on. With anything in life there are going to be trials - I know that.
While this career has allowed me to create something Waycross hadn’t had in a long time, helped me purchase my dream property, and introduced me to so many incredible people throughout our community… I feel like it’s time to say goodbye.
It’s brought so much joy and reward but within that there is just as much —if not more— of stress and anxiety of what freak accident is next.
Our family vet told me when I first started out “it’s not a matter of if something happens it’s when it happens you have to just deal with it”
And I took that as a challenge. I wanted to prove that there could be a 100% safe space for dogs and nothing “bad” would ever happen.
Looking back now, I realize how wrong I was—and how wise he was and still is.
I want to THANK each and every one of my clients and everyone who walked through my door over the last eight years. Waycross Bank & Trust. Thank you for taking a risk on a 19 year old girl who had a dream. It wouldn’t have been possible without you being will to make a loan happen.
You all allowed my American Dream to come true eight years ago — I will never forget these memories. The good and the bad.
As our 250th anniversary is approaching I am reminded that we live in a country where the possibilities are endless - it might be harder than it use to be but it is still possible. It all depends on how mentally tough you are and how determined you want to be.
I don’t know what door is opening for me next. I know JESUS is leading my life and I have no doubt he will remain faithful. He has never failed me. I have only failed him. He doesn’t want us to be afraid or full of worry - he wants us to be joyous through him. I feel him calling me to another door and allowing this one to close.
Thank you Jesus for this community, this journey, all of the fur babes I’ve been honored to keep.
Our last day will be July 15th.
With all my love,
Lexie.
All my word fall short
I got nothing new
How could I express
All my gratitude
I could sing these songs
As I often do
But every song must end
And you never do 🙌🏼🫶🏼
