WHAT CAN A SEIZURE RESPONSE DOG DO? 🐾

For someone living with epilepsy, a seizure can happen without warning. A seizure response dog can provide an added layer of support before, during, and after a seizure, helping their handler feel safer and more confident navigating everyday life.

While every dog's training is unique, seizure response dogs may be trained to:
✔ Stay with their handler during or after a seizure
✔ Alert caregivers that help is needed
✔ Create space or help keep their handler safe
✔ Retrieve important items or emergency supplies
✔ Provide comfort and support during recovery

But a service dog is more than the tasks they perform.

For Chadlyn, a seizure response service dog represents something she has been hoping for: greater independence, confidence, and the comfort of knowing she has a partner by her side.

Through our Paws for a Child 2026 campaign, we are working to raise $30,000 to help make that partnership possible.

💙 Help us give Chadlyn the gift of safety and independence.

WHAT IS EPILEPSY?

Epilepsy affects millions of people around the world, yet many misconceptions still exist.

Epilepsy is a neurological condition that causes recurring seizures. Those seizures can look different from person to person and may range from brief staring spells to full-body convulsions.

For families like Chadlyn’s, epilepsy often brings uncertainty. Not knowing when a seizure may happen can impact everyday activities, independence, and peace of mind.

As part of our Paws for a Child campaign, we are sharing Chadlyn’s story and raising awareness about the realities of living with epilepsy.

Our goal is to raise $30,000 to provide Chadlyn with a seizure response service dog that could offer an added layer of safety, support, and confidence as she continues growing into the incredible young woman she is.

By learning more about epilepsy, we can create more understanding, compassion, and support for individuals and families navigating this journey.

💙 Help us spread awareness, share Chadlyn’s story, and join us in helping make her service dog dream possible.

Help us celebrate Chadlyn! 🎉

As we continue our Paws for a Child campaign, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the amazing girl at the heart of this year’s journey.

Chadlyn recently turned 13! According to her family, she is funny, loving, feisty, and definitely the life of the party.

A few things that make Chadlyn, Chadlyn:
✨ Spending time with family and friends
✨ Roblox adventures
✨ Sleeping whenever she gets the chance
✨ Trying new foods
✨ Dreaming of more independence

While Chadlyn is just like many other teenagers stepping into this next chapter, she is also navigating life with epilepsy and the uncertainty that comes with seizures.

Through this year’s Paws for a Child campaign, we are working to raise $30,000 to provide Chadlyn with a seizure response service dog that can help bring greater safety, confidence, and independence.

We can’t wait for you to learn more about Chadlyn’s story and the impact your support can have.

Help us celebrate Chadlyn, donate toward her service dog journey, and share her story to help us reach more people.

We have some exciting news to share... Chance has officially started his formal task training for Joy! 🐾

This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, not only for Chance, but for his trainer, Samantha Pressley, as well.

Chance is beginning this next phase of his journey with Samantha under the guidance of our Director of Training, Rebecca Golian. For Samantha, it's a true full-circle moment.

Years ago, Samantha found Project 2 Heal through Moonpie and Ember, two diabetic alert dogs she trained herself. They became more than working dogs; they became her best friends. Through them, she discovered a passion for dog training that would shape the path she's on today.

Now, she's helping train another future service dog, this time a Project 2 Heal dog preparing for a life-changing partnership with Joy.

As Chance begins learning the specialized skills he'll one day use to support Joy, we're celebrating more than the start of formal task training. We're celebrating the power of service dogs to create connections, inspire passions, and change lives in ways we never could have imagined.

We can't wait to watch Chance grow, watch Samantha continue to share her talents, and see this partnership take shape in the months ahead. 💙

A few days ago, our pups helped bring a different kind of energy to Duke Energy. ⚡🐾

Our four-legged stress relief specialists spent the day making new friends, collecting belly rubs, and helping employees recharge during a Stress Down Day.

While the Duke Energy team got a chance to power down for a few minutes, our dogs were hard at work building confidence, practicing their manners, and gaining valuable experience in a busy new environment.

Safe to say there were plenty of smiles, wagging tails, and fully charged spirits by the end of the day.

A huge thank you to the Duke Energy team for welcoming us and our pups. We had an electrifying time!

The wait is over... Montana and Billy's puppies have arrived! 🐾

This litter comes with a pretty special story. Montana is a seasoned mom who has done this whole puppy thing before, while Billy is experiencing fatherhood for the very first time. We'd like to think he's already taking his role very seriously, but in reality, he's probably just happy to continue being everyone's favorite Ambassadog.

Montana is settling in beautifully with her newest crew, and the puppies are busy with their full-time schedules of eating, sleeping, snuggling, and growing.

Over the coming weeks, we'll get to watch these little ones hit milestone after milestone as they begin their journey toward becoming future service dogs.

For now, we're soaking up every tiny yawn, puppy pile, and wiggly stretch while celebrating the arrival of Montana and Billy's babies.

Welcome to the world, little ones. We can't wait to watch your story unfold! 💙

Breaking news: JJ is officially certified to be exactly who he's always been... a very good boy. 🐾

We're excited to celebrate JJ for passing his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test!

As one of our trusted chaperone dogs, JJ has spent the last year representing Project 2 Heal at community events, helping us spread awareness, meeting new friends, and showing our younger dogs how to confidently navigate everything from busy crowds to Stress Down Days.

Passing his CGC is an important milestone and a testament to his outstanding manners, reliability, and steady temperament. Now, he's setting his sights on his next big goal: the Alliance of Therapy Dogs certification test this June.

JJ has a special talent for making people smile wherever he goes, and we can't wait to see him take the next step toward sharing comfort, connection, and plenty of tail wags with those who need them most.

Congratulations to JJ and his Chaperone/Handler, Lillian B.! We couldn't be prouder. Stay tuned as he takes on his therapy dog test later this month! 💙

Though if you ask JJ, the real reward is probably the treats...

The puppy room has been extra busy lately, and that means some big milestones for two very special litters.

First up, Donovan from Sky's litter has officially joined his puppy raisers, Sarah and M., as he begins his journey in our Started 4 Service program. We can't wait to watch this guy continue to grow and learn as he takes on his next chapter. To learn more about becoming a puppy raiser, visit: https://hubs.ly/Q04jPSCR0

Meanwhile, Cypress's litter has been busy collecting boarding passes and heading off to organizations across the country:

• Pip is off to Bayside Service Dogs in Wilmington, NC.
• Ellie is headed to Continuing the Mission in Davidson, NC.
• Melody has joined Fidos For Freedom in Maryland.
• Buck and Belle are now with Paws and Affection in Pennsylvania.

Not long ago, these puppies were busy turning every toy into their favorite toy and every nap pile into a team-building exercise. Now they're spreading out and taking their first steps toward careers that will make a real difference.

We're so proud of these pups and excited to see what comes next. Though we have to admit, the puppy room feels a little emptier without all those extra paws running around!
