Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is owned by Dr. Elizabeth Bixby and Dr. Andrew Moeller. We have recently welcomed Dr Mary O’Loughlin to our team.

After many wonderful years serving this community, Waverly Veterinary Clinic is officially entering an exciting new chapter.

We’ve partnered with Avenue of the Saints Animal Hospital (Waverly) and are now moving forward together as Avenue Veterinary Clinic, all under one roof in our building:📍1504 4th St SW, Waverly, IA 50677

While our name is changing, what matters most is staying the same, the compassionate care, trusted relationships, and commitment to your pets. ❤️

WVC FAMILY!
As we get closer to officially becoming Avenue Veterinary Clinic, we wanted to share a quick update on what you may notice over the next week or two.

Important note: We will close at noon on Friday, February 27. During this time, we will help the Avenue of the Saints Animal Hospital (Waverly) team move into our practice in preparation for our opening day together as Avenue Veterinary Clinic on March 2.

While your visit experience will remain familiar, you may begin to see:

👋 New team members joining and supporting appointments

📋 Updated signage and branding throughout the clinic

What will not change:

✅ Our location remains the same

✅ The trusted team members you know and love are still here

✅ Your pet’s medical records remain secure and unchanged

✅ Our phone number will stay the same, but our email will change to: [email protected]

Our focus remains on providing consistent, high-quality care while we transition into this exciting new chapter together. We truly appreciate your patience as we continue building something even stronger for the Waverly community.

What goes into a doggy dental?

1. Premedication and placing an IV catheter 💊
2. Intubation- allowing us to control the airways and ensure the anesthesia gas maintains during the procedure

Sweet Millie came in to see us for a small growth behind her ear that just wouldn’t stop bleeding. 🐾

Even the tiniest growths can bleed a lot — especially in areas pets scratch or shake frequently.

Today, Millie received cryoprobe therapy, which uses extreme cold to target and destroy certain small growths — often without the need for surgery. ❄️

We’ll see this brave girl back in a few days to check her progress and see if the growth has resolved.

Way to go, Millie! 💕
