Waverly Animal Shelter Welcome to the Waverly Animal Shelter page. We are employed by the City of Waverly Animal Control.

Animal Control for the City of Waverly, Tennessee 🐾
Helping keep our community safe by managing stray animals, responding to animal concerns, reuniting lost pets with their owners, and supporting animals on their way to adoption. We respond to calls of animals in danger, roaming strays, lost and found animals, abandoned and owner surrendered pets. We partner with The Humphrey's County Humane Soc

iety and our local veterinary offices, to offer these unwanted animals a second chance at life. We work together, to help abused, abandoned, homeless, lost and unwanted animals get the medical attention, food, shelter, water, love and attention they so much deserve. Together with the help of our community and volunteers we are dedicated to finding as many homes as possible for these animals. Humphrey's County Humane Society also offers programs to help offset the costs of spaying and neutering your pet for those, who otherwise, may not be able to afford the full cost. Pet overpopulation is a serious problem, please do your part, be a responsible pet owner, spay and neuter, together we can fight pet overpopulation and save lives.

Please share for Tank. πŸ’”

Tank is only 8 months old and was hit by a car. His injuries were so severe that his leg had to be amputated Friday.

He is now safe, but he needs something we cannot give him in a shelter kennel β€” a quiet foster home where he can heal, rest, and feel loved.

He is sweet, gentle, and trying so hard to be brave. Tank needs someone willing to give him a calm place to recover, help keep his cone and bandage on, and love him through this scary part.

A shelter kennel is no place for a baby recovering from major surgery.

Please foster if you can. Please share if you can’t. One share could change his life. ❀️

Update: Tank has been adopted by his wonderful foster

🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR TANK 🚨

Tank is only 8 months old and should be worried about toys, treats, and being a happy puppy β€” not recovering from being hit by a car. πŸ’”

This sweet boy had his leg amputated Friday after his injuries were too severe to save it. Even through everything, Tank has been nothing but loving, gentle, and trusting.

Right now, Tank desperately needs a foster home where he can safely recover outside of the shelter. He needs a calm, quiet place to rest, help keeping his cone and bandage on, short supervised potty breaks, and lots of love while he heals.

Despite everything he’s been through, Tank is already trying to walk around and be a normal puppy again. He deserves a soft bed, kindness, and a chance to heal surrounded by love instead of spending recovery in a kennel.

Please help us help him. Even temporary fostering could change this baby’s life. ❀️

Please help us get Hobo seen. πŸ’”

This sweet senior boy has been waiting since January, and while he makes the best of shelter life, a kennel is not where he belongs.

Hobo needs a fenced-in yard, no other dogs, no cats, and someone willing to give him the quiet, loving home he deserves for his golden years.

Please share his story. Someone out there needs Hobo just as much as he needs them. 🐾

Davis is still waiting at Waverly Animal Shelter. πŸ’™

He has been so patient, and we would love to see this sweet senior boy get the calm, loving home he deserves while he finishes healing.

Please share Davis and help us find the right person for him. He deserves more than waiting behind kennel bars. 🐾

It’s that time of year again! These flat, round circles are NOT ringworm but the result of a small fly, commonly called β€œNo-See-Ums” and they are often found in the grass during the warmer months. Although their appearance is quite alarming, these rings will go away on their own over time and do not require medical treatment. They are known to cause mild to no discomfort to your pet. If the rings are raised or swollen, cause your pet discomfort or don’t seem to be disappearing after a few days, it is recommended to bring them in for an exam as it could be something other than noseeum bites, and could require medical treatment.
