We trackd this buck a long way. Had what appeared to be muscle blood now and then to keep us going. Then winnie jumped it after 16 hours and I could tell this deer was just fine. This pic was days after the track and was angled into the shoulder which bent only one blade so it probably deflected out of the cavity. This buck was pretty lucky.

This young lady put a great shot on this deer. Entered in the lungs but the bullet stopped in the opposite shoulder so no blood at all. After a brief search we got called. After we watched the vidio we knew it was dead but with no blood and the deer running into very thick cover we dropped winnie on the hit site and within minutes she was tugging on it.....one drop of blood was it. It didn't go far but it went the opposite way of where they searched. Great job by this young hunter putting winnie right where she hit it. Congradulations.

This track was a great reminder Winnie is smarter than me. This track was 24 hours old. Very doable for a trained dog. She locked on the known track with only a couple drops then absolutely no.blood. She worked her ass off figuring out which direction it took. She brought me back to the truck where we started and went past it. I pulled her off thinking no way it was here. Re start she kept going back that way so I let her go. 20 yards from where i pulled her off in the thickest crap there was.....there it layed. TRUST THE DOG!!!

Winnie gloated all the way home. I was reminded who knows best. Great track winnie

Were starting off the season with a string of live deer but Winnie still gets her post track hamburger lol

This is a buck we tracked opening day. Quartering away and arrow looked pretty good. No gut. Nice blood so we got a call.

Only a couple spots of blood at the hit site and absolutely no blood after. Winnie locked on the track and went 125 yards with confidence. We came to a point at 125 yards she stopped tracking did a couple small circles to see if it turned and gave me that "track is cold" look

That looks tells me this deer is not mortally wounded and may be alive.

We started arching out from where it went cold. With no luck.

I told the hunters when Winnie looks at me and just sits i think its still alive. This morning I get a text. Winnie was correct. He got it on camera alive.

When hunters send us these picks it really makes us feel good but more important it helps me trust Winnie and learn her behavior on a track. Thank you.

Winnie does all the work. Shes the one that makes us look good. Love walking behind this dog.

Only three days until the opener. It will be warm out but you still need to give those animals time to expire. Anything mid body needs more time. If you have a questionable shot. Wait in your stand awhile. When you get down mark the hit spot and direction of travel and give us a call to talk it over and decide the best course of action.

Well look who turned 5 years old today. I couldn't ask for a better tracking partner. Looking forward to walking behind her another 5 years. Special thanks to Dean Muthig over at Muckdogs training for taking her for a couple months when she was a pup years ago and building a great tracking foundation. He is one of the best in the business and he did a great job with winnie. Thanks Dean

Hope everyone is having a great summer. As it starts getting closer to fall Winnie and I are getting some training in for the upcoming season. Hard to believe she's going to be 5 tomorrow already.
