We know everybody is excited to see the Freedom Beagles, so here's a few more pictures of how they were yesterday afternoon just a little over 24 hours out of the facility.

If you have applied to Foster or adopt, please be patient. We will be collecting applications for at least a few more days before we start seriously processing any. If you have not already applied and you are interested, please apply! The online form can be found on the Adoptable Dogs page of waupacahumane.org. The screening and interview process for these dogs will be more extensive, just like it always is for any animals with special needs. Please be patient.

In the coming days and weeks, we will be getting to know them. Our experienced volunteers will be starting to work with them and they will be receiving comprehensive medical care. They will not be going to foster homes or adoptive homes until these things are complete. A good deal of planning and preparation has gone into their liberation and the same will go into their rehoming.

We take this commitment very seriously and very much appreciate the unending support of our Facebook family that allowed us to confidently take on this project. We are deeply honored to have been entrusted with their care by Wisconsin Federated Humane Societies, Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project, Inc and Beagle Freedom Project.

We know, everyone would like to see the sweet pictures of the Freedom Beagles running around in a grass yard, but our grass yard is right next to the busy parking lot... which is very busy today! So we wanted to give these guys a few days in the quiet yard, while they all learn to be outdoors.

This is our bravest little boy! He really seemed to be enjoying laying in the sun on the warm pavers.

They don't have names yet, but we are planning on contacting some of the people who have donated very generously to let them suggest names! More to come soon!

The Freedom Beagles (FKA "Ridglan Beagles") have landed, and honestly, we're too pooped and they're too stressed to make any video tonight. We will try for tomorrow. We got 4 really sweet, pretty scared, males.

Please join us in referring to them as the Freedom Beagles from now on....and help us thank the Beagle Freedom Project, Wisconsin Federated Humane Societies, Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project, Inc, Dane County Humane Society and EVERYONE who made all of this possible today, especially all of the tireless volunteers. You guys are the best of us!

Meet Gurgi. Your new work-from-home companion! The team at Waupaca Humane- Humane Society of Waupaca County estimate her to be 3-4 years old. She's a pretty chill coworker but will need to be brushed regularly. Her only other ask: a sunny window to call her own.
