Birger (now Lambeau) has been a wonderful addition to the family, quickly settling in and becoming best friends with Cooper. He loves playing with other dogs, digging, getting muddy, and growing way too fast while still thinking he’s under 40 lbs. Despite his mischievous side, he’s a perfect fit—full of love, playful energy, and an unwavering desire to cuddle, even with a soaking-wet face.

Fred has been adopted and is headed to his forever home! After patiently waiting for the right family, he found a perfect match who absolutely adores him. Harper is a 60-lb sweetheart who is settling into her foster home and showing what a wonderful companion she can be. She is potty and crate trained, well-behaved in the house, walks nicely on a leash, and does well with large dogs her size or bigger. She is up to date on vaccines and will be spayed while in foster care. Harper is continuing to blossom as her foster family gets to know her better.

Golden Retriever Rescue of Iowa is currently seeking a dedicated home for Skye. She is a beautiful, intelligent girl who requires a structured environment to truly thrive. Could your home be the perfect match for her next chapter?

The Ideal Setup:

✅Solo Pet: Must be the only dog or cat in the household. She wants to receive all of your love and attention.
✅Secured Yard: A physical fence is required for her safety and exercise.
✅Family Dynamic: Best suited for families with older children, ages 10 and up.
✅Environment: A consistent, predictable daily routine is highly recommended to help her feel secure.

Personality, Quirks, & Overview:

◾Breed & Age: 5½-year-old Golden Retriever, weighing approximately 65 lbs.
◾Activity Level: High energy. She thoroughly enjoys long walks, structured playtime, and mental stimulation.
◾On-Leash Behavior: She can be highly vocal and will bark at other dogs while on leash. However, she is making excellent progress and is doing very well with her distraction training.
◾Toy Connoisseur: She loves having her toys out of the toy box and accessible at all times.
◾Alert System: She is vocal but settles down quickly.
◾Human Hugger: She is working hard on her manners and learning not to jump up or hug people when she gets excited.

This sweet, active girl is ready for her next chapter. She will make an incredibly loyal companion for an experienced handler who can provide the structure, consistency, and continued training she deserves.

Normally, Carol would be kicking off our Fall Flower Power fundraiser, and we know she always did an amazing job with it. This year, **Judy Mumphy and I are taking over the Flower Power reins**, and we’re going to do our best to keep Carol’s tradition going strong! 💐

Our **Fall Flower Power Fundraiser runs through October 15**, so there’s plenty of time to shop for bulbs and plan for a beautiful spring garden.

Rocky quickly became a beloved part of the family after coming to us as a Foster to Adopt. We adopted him on August 9th and couldn’t be happier. He is smart, affectionate, playful, and loves toys, walks, car rides, and cuddling. Rocky enjoys meeting new people, watching wildlife on walks, and has especially bonded with our mail lady. We are incredibly grateful to have Rocky in our lives and feel he is the perfect addition to our family.

Jax is a sweet, goofy, affectionate 2-year-old who thinks he’s a lap dog. He’s a true velcro companion who loves people, dogs, kids, walks, and exploring. With plenty of energy, he thrives on playtime, structure, and companionship, and would especially enjoy having a friendly resident dog as a buddy. Jax is gentle, loyal, and eager to be part of a loving, active family—and will make a wonderful forever companion.
