🏝️🐾 After a long journey, we've reached the Final Four. Meet Chrissy, Dee, Jenna, and Cirie, the last Ridglan Farms beagles available for adoption at HAWS.

These pups have already outlasted more than most dogs ever should. Now they're competing for something much better than a million-dollar prize: a loving family of their own.

The tribe has spoken...Ridglan Farms is closing, which means we're celebrating a huge victory for animal welfare. 🎉 Now, there's just one challenge left: finding their forever homes.

HAWS Mobile will be at The Iron Horse Hotel the last Saturday of each month throughout the summer from 2PM-4PM with an adoptable pup or two for Yappy Hour!

Dates:
- June 27th
- July 25th
- August 29th
- September 26th

In partnership with our friends at Tito's Handmade Vodka, there will be specialty cocktails, Tito's samples and giveaways. For every Tito's cocktail purchased during Yappy Hour, Tito's will donate $1 to HAWS, up to $2,500!

New month, new star 🐾 Say hello to Ayla, a 9-month-old pup with a playful personality and plenty of charm. 💕

Whether she’s carrying around her favorite toys, heading out for a walk, showing off her double high-fives, or splashing around in the water, Ayla knows how to have a good time.

This 57-pound sweetheart loves spending time with her people and enjoys dog friends that match her play style. 🐶

Ayla is smart, curious, goofy, and still learning all the things that come with being a young dog. She’s ready to find a family that will continue helping her grow while loving her fun personality along the way.

"Good morning! I meant to send this sooner, but life got in the way. I just wanted to update you all on something.

I'm not sure if you remember 'The Valentine's Pups' or not but on Valentine's Day in 2012, 15 puppies were born at HAWS. I was one of the lucky people who got to bring home one of them and she has been my best friend and partner in crime ever since.

But the reason I wanted to reach out is to share that she celebrated her GOLDEN birthday! Miss Tripoli (formerly Blue Bell) is 14 years old! I'm not sure how many of her siblings are still around, but she is still here and being as sassy as the first day we met her!" - Bryce D.

Thank you to the Petfinder Foundation for awarding HAWS a 2026 Shelter Foster Support Grant! 🐾

This grant helps us provide supplies, training, and resources to our canine foster and foster-to-adopt families, making it possible for more dogs to spend time in loving homes instead of the shelter. Every dog in foster care creates space for another animal in need and allows us to further assist partner shelters facing overcrowding.

One recent example is the group of Ridglan Farm beagles that arrived at HAWS and were placed directly into foster homes. The support provided through this grant helped ensure those families had the resources they needed to welcome these dogs and begin their journey toward brighter futures.

Also featured is adoptable Poochie Pooch, a 3-year-old dog currently benefiting from our foster program while she searches for her forever home. Programs like this help dogs settle into a home environment while giving us valuable insight into their personalities and needs so we can make the best possible match with future adopters. For example, through her time in foster care, we've learned that Poochie Pooch has done well with children and other dogs, but would prefer a cat-free home!
