What's Tilly's favorite time of day?

BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER! 😂

Tilly is an approximately 2+ year old Red-Footed Tortoise. Tilly was under a year old when she came to us and our vet guessed that it was male. Tilly came in underweight and underdeveloped due to being on a wrong diet. Now that Tilly has been eating well and starting to grow, our vet believes Tilly is female! As adults, Red-Footed Tortoises can get to be 30+lbs. Tilly will need a home that will take care of her growing needs!

Tilly's adoption fee is $275.

If you're interested in adopting Tilly, visit our website and fill out an adoption application! We are located in Waukesha, WI and do not ship. Applicants must live within 100 miles.

How cute are Valentino and Armani?! We've been working hard on getting them used to people and they have shown some progress! They're not used to being handled but they're getting used to having people close to them!

Valentino and Armani are approximately 2-year-old DNA-sexed male Lovebirds. They are a bonded pair and must go together. They have been thoroughly vet checked. The boys love hopping around her cage, playing with toys and chattering together.

Valentino and Armani's adoption fee is $200.

If you are interested in adoption, please go to www.centerforanimalrehab.org, read our Adoption Policies, and fill out the Adoption Application. Once your application is approved, we will set up a meet and greet with you/your family.

We are located in Waukesha, WI and do not ship. All adopters must live within a 100 mile radius. We do not adopt birds to households that have the opposite gender birds.

Remember that little budgie Cassie found in Bayview last week? Well, after spending her 5 day stray hold at MADACC and nobody claiming her, she has made it to CARE! There was another stray female budgie that came in a few days before her so we took her too!

They're doing well and really getting along. They're not available for adoption yet, but keep your eyes out if you're interested!

Toby and Wanda getting their annual wellness exams and bloodwork!

Annual exams are crucial to a bird's health and well being. Our vets at Brook-Falls Veterinary Hospital & Exotic Care, Inc. look at the following during wellness exams:

•Weight and Body Condition: Checking your pet’s weight and assessing its body condition score (BCS)

•Vital Signs: Measuring heart rate, and respiration rate

•Beak and Choana: evaluate oral health, upper respiratory tract, and signs of nutritional deficiencies or systemic illness

•Eyes and Ears: Checking for signs of infection or abnormalities

•Skin and feathers: Inspecting for parasites, lumps, or skin conditions

•Mobility: Checking joints, muscles, and bones for signs of pain or arthritis

•Abdomen: Feeling the abdomen to check organs like the liver, kidneys, and intestines

•Heart and Lungs: Listening to the heart and lungs for anything out of the ordinary

We also get bloodwork done for most birds over 100g in weight. Bloodwork for parrots is essential for early detection of diseases that they often hide until advanced stages. It provides a baseline for health, monitors organ functions (liver/kidneys), screens for infections, and allows for preventative care to detect nutritional imbalances before they show clinical symptoms.

Thank you for caring for our flock!
