Thank you everyone for reaching out. Sunrise has found us fosters.
This animal control administrator is currently bottle feeding one baby, other two did mush great; They need foster. Life has a strange way, as today i had to euthanize my personal kitten who suffered from sickness that ended in liver failure. My heart aches for the ones we lose, but we keep pushing, loving, trying despite the hurt. This is more than a job, you have to love what you do here because you are broken daily. We need help. We have rescue, if you foster. There is nothing more fulfilling than being the reason one of these babies survive. Rescues run on volunteers. They need you. These babies need you. Today, I need you. 815.432.4918 if you can help

Anyone looking to help foster, we have a boy that could use a medical foster. He is not contagious. He needs 2 to 3 baths a week to help him get over a nasty skin infection. He is a lover. He deserves to be loved on while he recovers. If you can help, call 815.432.4918.

Friday Facts:
🦟 HEARTWORM FACT SHEET 🐢🐱

Heartworm disease is a serious β€” and potentially deadly β€” condition spread by mosquitoes. One bite from an infected mosquito can put your pet at risk.

❀️ Why prevention matters:
β€’ Heartworms live in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels
β€’ Dogs, cats, and ferrets can all be affected
β€’ Treatment for dogs is expensive and hard on the body
β€’ There is NO approved treatment for heartworms in cats
β€’ Prevention is safe, easy, and much cheaper than treatment

πŸ“… Important facts:
βœ” Pets should stay on prevention YEAR-ROUND
βœ” Indoor pets are still at risk from mosquitoes
βœ” Annual heartworm testing is recommended for dogs
βœ” Prevention comes in monthly chewables, topical treatments, or injections

⚠ Signs of heartworm disease may include:
β€’ Coughing
β€’ Fatigue
β€’ Weight loss
β€’ Trouble breathing
β€’ Collapse in severe cases

Protect your pets before mosquitoes become active this season. Talk to your veterinarian about the best heartworm prevention option for your pet.

Poor Benny, he won the nasty disease list. He has Lyme, ehrlichia, and heartworm. Less than $10 a month would've saved him the pain of these nasty diseases. You are going to be cared for now Benny. Here's to recovery!!!
