Patagia & Tails Sugar Gliders

Patagia & Tails Sugar Gliders A small hobby breeder of lineaged, healthy, and hand-friendly sugar gliders. All joeys are lineaged. All joey adoptions come with a health guarantee.

A small, passionate hobby breeder of lineaged, healthy, hand friendly joeys, and suggie safe toy vendor of the SGSA. Our breeding pairs are methodically selected for health, appearance, and temperament. We are currently producing (classic gray), whiteface, blackface, black beauty, with a variety of mosaics, as well as creme red lines producing for creme-ino, platinum and leu. All the gliders here

are our pets and family members first and foremost, our joeys are handled daily from oop (out of pouch), and carried out and about in daily life to get them comfortable with different settings, sounds, and smells. We believe that you get back what you put into an animal, be good to your pets and they will return that 10 fold with love and loyalty. Striving to improve pet gliders, and to bless other homes with great companions as ours has been blessed. Glider ownership is a continuous journey of growth and learning which we look forward to. When adopting out a joey we like to form friendships, we love receiving pictures and updates, but will also be available day or night, any time, to answer any questions or help how ever I can. I do not promote impulse buys and I work to promote education, and for potential owners, I do so in part by using a questionnaire form to find out where the customer is at in their ownership phase and journey, and identifying any weak points. Located in central Maine; shipping to any glider legal area via airlines, or ground transport at the customer’s expense. A 30% nonrefundable deposit is required on joeys and pre-approved payment plans are accepted. All pet male joeys are neutered before they go home and all joeys adopted are pet only, unless otherwise noted. Our toys are created in a pet-friendly home but no animals come into contact with any supplies or items.

Sharing this start up list again for the new and prospective glider owners out there. Any time there’s an up tick in new inquiries I feel it’s always good to reshare this list.

When you work with me I do have some criteria that’s pretty basic- I’m pretty easy, it’s just about the animals at the end of the day, and that’s why we’re here, right? 🙂

1) Must have a cage set up with safe wheel, pouches, and at least 2-3 toys

2) Fill out app to collect basic info

3) Must feed a staple diet!
*I’m not a stickler that says “you must feed x diet”, but you need to feed an appropriate diet, if it’s tpg, gohpw, bml, or Ohpw doesn’t matter, as long as your feeding an adequate diet.

4) Single joeys must have a buddy at home!

Those are the nonnegotiable points, the rest can be filled in, learned, and acquired. We can work from there. This list is a good start up list of things a new owner should have to be prepared for their new companions, keeping in mind the bare minimum necessities are priority.

Equine Pellets

This is really all you need for a Brisbane sized cage with 2-3 gliders for 7-10 days generally. By the end of the 7-10 days most of the pellets would have disintegrated and soaked up all the waste, a quick suck out with a shop vac, wipe out with your chosen cleaner and then add fresh pellets. You could use less if you wanted to do bi weekly changes instead.

Pellets are especially great during warmer months when it’s humid and more likely for urine to puddle and stagnate. I always loved packing papers in my cage pans, but this summer they really weren’t drying well in the damp air, so we turned back to our trusty equine pellets for a bit.

If you have ever been curious to try pellets out, or would like to see if you can decrease the p*e smell in your glider room, you can find this at your local Tractor Supply, Rural King, or similar tack and feed stores, etc. These are made of pine wood, but they are totally safe to use because they are kiln dried* 40 lb bags are around $8–$10 depending on brand/location.

Getting ready to head off to pick up some glider supplies. We need to pick up more packing paper for pans, tomorrow I am going for glider groceries to stock up on their chicken, yogurt, eggs, and apple sauce. Hoping we get some decent seeds from our sunflowers to get some for suggie treats. We don’t do much in the way of seeds and nuts here, really as my gliders don’t like pine nuts, and most nuts are too much fat or not safe due to aflatoxin risks. I’m thinking next year we may grow some more edible stuff, we didn’t grow any beans or anything this year. I really want a lilac bush so badly. The little leus are still looking for their people, will have updated pics/video soon. See ya on the flip side 🤪

Please enjoy our sunflowers, dropping them here so we don’t get lost in the feed 🌻

Yay! I’ve been waiting to post this! We now have another leu oop that’s 👀 for a 🏠. It’s also possible she could be paired with the other leu we have available for a pet pair, as the other baby is just about a month older. Pm for details, pif discounts and neuters incl! She’s a very quiet baby and doesn’t crab at much.

I’m going to do a little work today in the glider room, didn’t work today, so I guess where it’s raining it’s a good day to work at home. Keep trying to get my paws on the newest Joey oop, but I literally can’t 😭 I just tried again a while ago, but same story for nearly 3 days now. Eyes should be opening any day now. So when I do finally catch her off tit I will have some pics. The other guy , our little leu, hasn’t found his special people yet. He’s becoming extremely curious about his surroundings now, he’s eating mostly all staple food and hardly nursing as much, he’s also becoming quite self confident and people friendly. He’s comfortable with hands and his first nail trim last week went great! Dm us to chat about more him, he’s quite a catch! Pif discount and neuter incl so he will be ready to rock and settle into his new family.

We’ve got another joey about to come oop! This too is a singleton, also what appears to be a white creature that’s tbd. The leu male that’s still looking for a home is due for his very first nail trim, and I’m thinking it’s getting time to do another nail trim video for the page. Anyhoo, thought I’d drop in to announce the other joey- I hope everyone is as good as can be and is finding ways to get through the heat. I will be posting pics soon, in meantime our inbox is open.

Leu male reposting his pics, oop 6/24 rtg around 9/01, neuter included, pif discount available. New baby tbd and announced at later date.
