In 2000, Elizabeth Evans opened Best Friends Fun Farm, a successful dog agility school in the Dallas, TX area. Over the years, she has trained handlers aged 7 - 82 years young, dogs of all ages and breeds ranging from the smallest Chihuahua to a 160 lb Great Dane and everything in between. Elizabeth loves working with teams who do recreational agility for fun, as well as handlers who wish to be co

Our Middle TN forecast for the next 36 hours is crazy (possible tornadoes and then snow! ) but next weekend looks GORGEOUS! Come play agility with us in Watertown! Late entries are still being accepted.

WHAT IS DOUBLE DOWN?

New CPE AGILITY offering, effective January 1, 2026

Have you ever finished a course and wished you could run the same one again? Now, clubs can offer Double Down (DD): Select courses at trials can be repeated in the premium as a DD event. If a club wants to host more classes but avoid multiple course builds, they can provide a DD opportunity— for example, two rounds of Standard, both on the same course. If you perform well, you might earn two Qs on the same course!

If there are two rounds of a class listed in the premium in the same day, then the club will indicate if round 2 is DD course. DD simply means that the 2nd round is the same course as the 1st round.

Sometimes people ask me how to get a spot in existing agility classes. There are pretty much two routes:

1. For dogs who are already proficient on equipment:
Join the Jump For Joy Agility Student Group on Facebook, everyone is welcome. This is where existing students sell a spot when they know they'll be absent. Openings are posted almost every week. If you buy an opening, then I'll get to know you and your dog and see how y'all work. This puts you on the radar so when a permanent opening comes along, I'll already know who would be a good fit for the class based on who has been attending drop-in spots. https://www.facebook.com/groups/jumpforjoyagilitystudentgroup

2. For dogs who are new to agility:
Take private lessons so you can learn the skills and "catch up" to classes already in session. Once your dog is proficient on most things, you can follow the path above. The private lesson booking schedule opens 60 days in advance and fills up pretty quickly. https://www.jumpforjoyagility.com/book

I don't start brand new classes very often, so these routes are the best way to work your way in!
