I will be taking a break this week. One of my cats is very sick and I’m trying to be home as much as possible to monitor and give fluids as needed. She has a vet appointment in the morning in Cedar Rapids to get testing done and hopefully figure out what’s going on. As of now she’s stable and hydrated, we had a scare over the last few days but she’s improving as of now.

I’ll update you guys once I start scheduling again and I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may cause 🫶

Olaf!!
This handsome young guy is doing AMAZING learning his hand signals! His foster parents are doing fantastic with him! He’s practically mastered Sit, and he’s progressing very well with Lay Down!
He’s kennel trained, potty trained and also up for adoption through Cedar Valley Pit Bull Rescue !!

If you’re looking for a special needs boy that has soooo much love to give, he’s your man!!
Olaf is great with cats, dogs AND kids! He’s 5 months old and is sooooooo sweet, his adoption comes with his training binder to help his family continue to set him up for success!

$5 Friday has returned!!

Its been a while since we've done a $5 Friday, we have alot of vet bills to get caught up on and we need your support! We've taken in alot of puppies recently and Spay/Neuter is not cheap! Even though they have been adopted, we still continue to pay for vaccines up until a year old plus the Spay/Neuter. So this weeks $5 Friday is dedicated to these amazing little bundles of joy!!

All of these puppies have been adopted, or pending adoption!!

We take Venmo: Link is attached in the pictures

Toads kennel journey has been very stressful to say the least! But it’s not his fault. In this video he is trying to break out (and potentially harm himself in the process) Since this video I have made my dining room into a dog pen and it has kept him safe! It’s been hit or miss with his good and bad days but he’s still learning!!

In the comments I will post how he’s doing today! We have not worked up to him being left in during the day but it’s open for him to come and go as he pleases 🐾

Disclaimer: Thid video was taken for educational purposes ONLY and he was let out immediately after 🐾

Meet Bilbeau!

This handsome little fella is having some issues expressing his feelings nicely around his dog brother and his dad while his mom heals from surgery. We had an evaluation and they are working on some relationship builders to help him gain some confidence!

This guy is SO smart and I can’t wait to see how he progresses!

Canine Enrichment and Why Its Important!
Enrichment is probably one of the most important things you can do with your dog to help them live a happy and healthy life. It helps stimulate their brain and helps them mentally reset if they are stressed. If used correctly, it can also help associate positive interactions in scary or new situations!
Overall, Canine Enrichment is very important for your dogs health and wellbeing. Here's some examples of enrichment you can do with your dog:
Training sessions: 15-20 minutes of training 2-3 times a day can be SO rewarding and mentally stimulating for dogs, its a healthy way to keep the brain active and while learning new things too! (Be sure to stop when your dog is showing signs of being done, overtraining can cause more negative effects then good!)
Food & Treat Puzzles: These are perfect for feeding meals or just for a fun activity during the day, if your dog is having an off day and you think training sessions might be too much, go ahead and add some enrichment toys! They come in SO many varieties and levels of difficulty so there is one for every dog! You can find them at most pet stores or even online.
Decompression Walks: These are intended walks that have no commands or strict rules. They let your dog just be a dog! I recommend doing this ONLY if your dog has a strong recall, some dogs might take advantage of being on a long lead. Let your dog set the pace and just let them take in the surroundings and sniff, its perfect for them to let out built up stress and frustration. Letting them just sniff around lowers the heart rate and just lets them reset in the human world. Open fields, nature parks, and even renting a Sniff Spot is my preferred way.
Frozen Treat Toys: These are a staple in my house, we use them almost daily. We use kongs and any other brand of stuffable toy, fill them with wet food or peanut butter and freeze! I like to fill them halfway with kibble so the wet food doesn't get stuck in there and make it harder to clean.

Kennel Training can be a very controversial subject, but it is one of the most important things to teach your dog.

When dogs have a safe space to go it makes life so much easier! When your at work it can relieve the stress of coming home to a possible mess, if you need to go on vacation or leave town on emergency it will greatly help your pet sitter or boarding facility as well!!

If you are needing help getting started, Email me or message the page to schedule an evaluation!

Evaluations are $40 within the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. Outside of that they are $50 to cover gas costs.
Sessions are $100/Hourly
