We just discovered a huge piece of the puzzle in Toulla’s recovery today! Look at how calm she is resting with me and my doggie boys in a quiet room. We’ll start with this and build her ability to settle from here! Now we can keep her calm AND contained. We can work with this! 🐾💜

Toulla is here for a board and train. We are working on being comfortable being contained. We have discovered that she has a hard time with separation. So we are working with her on being more comfortable with that. Right now, she is listening to some Bach cello music in her contained area. Only the bougieist for this little girl! 🐾💜

This is Toulla the Yorkie! She’s here with me this week for a board and train! We are working on getting an up close understanding of her behaviors and making as much progress as possible while she’s here! So far, we are working on her reactions to the TV, reactions to other dogs, being comfortable in her crate (not whining and carrying on so much), potty training support, and helping her understand the difference between sit and down. Guess who I met today! This is Hutch and he’s a 9 week old mini Bernedoodle! We will start puppy training next week!

Kody and I were at Bass Pro Shops practicing some basic skills around real-life distractions — sit, down, and touch.
Training isn't just about getting your dog to listen in the quiet living room. The goal is to help them learn how to respond to you out in the real world, too.
