Astoria is still waiting for her home! She will now yell at her foster mom to give her food and will take treats cautiously from a 9 year old girl. She will also sit 5 feet away from said child. That is progress! She just needs a home please, would you consider giving this girl a place? She loves other cats so she would (at the very least) make a great friend for your cat.

Looks like we won another online award — Best Café in Wasilla.
We’ll be honest: the cats probably deserve most of the credit. That’s okay with us. They’re the real stars around here, and because every dollar from the café goes to supporting them, we’re happy to put this award on display.

We are 77% to our goal for Bubbas ear surgery as of this moment! You are all incredible ❤️❤️❤️❤️ We plan to bring the funds to VCA Far Country as soon as the goal is reached. We need your help for Bubba.
Bubba is about 3 years old. A month and a half ago, The Cat Cottage — the nonprofit arm of The Alaska Cat Café — received him from the Mat-Su Borough with ear problems. We believe the Borough vets did not know how serious those issues were when they released him.
He has been to AnnieVet several times for emergency care and follow-ups. It has been determined that he needs a Total Ear Canal Ablation. That is a specialized ear-canal surgery only certain veterinarians can perform. It will leave him completely deaf. It should also end the pain that makes him scratch his ears until they infect again and again.
The surgery is $6,000–$8,000. VCA Far Country Animal Hospital has grant funds for us of about $2,700, and we are deeply grateful. We still need to raise the rest by September 18 so he can have the surgery and six weeks of recovery.
If Bubba gets this surgery, he should live a long, happy life as a great cat without that agony. After he heals, he will be available for adoption to a person or family who does not mind a deaf cat — and who can hopefully give him a playmate. He is so friendly. He will light up your life. He will not hear your voice. He will still know your love if you show it.
We know this is a lot to save one cat. We wish we had the funds. We do not. The 19-year-old owner of The Alaska Cat Café does not believe in putting cats down when they can be saved, and has gone without a paycheck so profits can go to their care.

Guess what?? We have 4 new adorable 11 week old kittens in the cafe! Meet the Pokémon Litter…Eevee, Gloom, Starmie and Raichu. Once they reach their goal weight and have been altered they will be available for adoption. Until then, come meet them and play. Support the cats! 😻
