Had to say Goodbye last night. He came to us as Mario at the age of 3 (along with his brother Luigi) He was just a lovable big ole puppy dog. He was 14 and had a stroke. He became many names over the years, Homer (because his upper lip sticks out over his lower lip like Homer Simpson) Mars, Mars Bar, Mario Kart, Mario Speedwagon, Hommie....You will be missed buddy!!

This little lady and another Nigerian Dwarf are running out of time before they head to auction. Their herd ended up with a meat broker 2 weeks ago with a group headed to slaughter. I initially said no to the group. It was a buck and 4 does, possibly pregnant and I felt it was more than we should take on. The broker didn't want to see them sold for meat, so he's held on to them looking for another option. He found a family member to take the buck and 2 does but these 2 girls are left. But their time is running out.

We have a quarantine space open and we’ve had some adoptions lately, so I've been going back and forth about taking them. They have both been with a buck so there is also the chance they are pregnant. We're told this little one especially is incredibly sweet. I just keep coming back to where will they end up if we don't take them? I know the likely answer and hate to see them face that fate. These girls are at risk but we can change that.
